Դեռևս հոկտեմբերի 9-ին ԲՀԿ առաջնորդ Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը, խոսելով նախագահի թեկնածու առաջադրվելու մասին, հայտարարել էր, թե «իմ մտքում կա չորսից հինգ թեկնածու նախագահի համար, ովքեր լավ թեկնածուներ են, որոնք կկարողանան կարգավորել երկիրը։ Եթե հանրությունը նրանցից մեկի թեկնածությունն առաջարկի, ես պատրաստ եմ նրա կողքը կանգնել»:
«Ժողովուրդ»-ը փորձել է ԲՀԿ առաջնորդ Գագիկ Ծառուկյանի մամլո խոսնակ Իվետա Տոնոյանի միջոցով պարզել՝ արդյո՞ք ՀՀ երկրորդ նախագահ Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի նախագահ առաջադրվելուց հետո Գ. Ծառուկյանն իր թեկնածությունը կառաջադրի, թե՝ ոչ։ Փորձեցինք պարզել նաև մնացած 4-5 թեկնածուների անունները, որոնք Գ. Ծառուկյանի «մտքում են»։ Սակայն Տոնոյանը մեկ օր անց, թերթի հարցին ի պատասխան, ասել է. «Հնարավորություն չունեմ ճշտելու, քանի որ պարոն Ծառուկյանը Հայաստանում չէ, կարճ ժամանակով՝ մի քանի օրով, մասնավոր այցով մեկնել է արտերկիր»:
Հետաքրքիր իրավիճակ է: Անշուշտ, հասկանալի է, որ հայտարարելով մտքում 4-5 հոգի ունենալու մասին՝ Ծառուկյանը գիտակցել է, որ հետագայում շրջանառվելու են տարբեր վարկածներ և ինքը որոշակի պարզաբանումներ պետք է տա: Վերջին օրերին նրա թիմակիցները և ինքն անձամբ խուսափում են խոսել այդ թեմայի մասին: Մինչդեռ, ըստ էության, Ծառուկյանը պատահաբար չի տվել 4-5 թեկնածուի մասին. խնդիր է դրված եղել թեկնածուների ընդլայնված ցուցակում առաջին անգամ որպես նախագահի հնարավոր թեկնածու հնչեցնել Ռոբերտ Քոչարյանի անունը:
Սակայն հոկտեմբերի 10-ին հանրահավաքի հարթակից Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանի հնչեցրած հայտնի հայտարարությունը Քոչարյանի վերաբերյալ, ըստ էության, խախտեց Ծառուկյանի պլանները: Տեր-Պետրոսյանը, ամեն դեպքում չայրելով հետդարձի կամուրջները, առանձնացրեց Քոչարյանին այս պահին ընթացող քաղաքական գործընթացներից՝ ուղղակիորեն հասկացնելով իր դաշնակցին, որ այս պահին հնչեցնելով Քոչարյանի անունը՝ կարող է խնդիրներ հարուցել շարժման հարթակում: Հավանաբար վախենալով Տեր-Պետրոսյանի քաղաքական հաշվեհարդարից՝ ԲՀԿ առաջնորդը հետաձգեց Քոչարյանի վերադարձի թեման առավել նպաստավոր քաղաքական պահի: Այնպես որ՝ քաղաքական ինտրիգները առաջիկայում դաշտում հետաքրքիր վերադասավորումների կարող են բերել...
