ՌԴ Պետդումայի խոսնակ Վյաչեսլավ Վոլոդինը Լիբերալ դեմոկրատական կուսակցության առաջնորդ Վլադիմիր Ժիրինովսկուն եւ այլ պատգամավորների խնդրել է զգույշ արտահայտվել Ռուսաստանի ժողովուրդների մասին: Այս մասին հունվարի 20-ին հայտնել է «Ռոսիյսկայա գազետա»-ն:

«Ռուսաստանը բազմազգ երկիր է, ուստի երբ խոսում ենք որեւէ ազգության մասին, երբ ընդգծում ենք մեր վերաբերմունքը ժողովրդի նկատմամբ, եկեք դա հաշվի առնենք, քանի որ մենք ձեզ հետ միասին Ռուսաստանում ենք ապրում: Մենք ելնում ենք այն բանից, որ բոլորս եղբայրներ ենք, եւ այդ ժամանակ մեզ մոտ շատ բան կստացվի»,- ասել է Վոլոդինը՝ մեկնաբանելով Ժիրինովսկու խոսքը Խորհրդային Միության փլուզման գործում որոշ ազգային հանրապետությունների դերի մասին:

Ստորին պալատում իր ելույթում Ժիրինովսկին, վկայակոչելով 1987 թվականի «Ռուսները ԽՍՀՄ-ում» հոդվածը, հայտարարել է, որ տարբեր ժողովուրդներին «մինչեւ բարձր զարգացման մակարդակի» հասցնելու խորհրդային իշխանությունների գաղափարը ոչ մի լավ բանի չի բերել: Նրա կարծիքով՝ այդ ժամանակներից ի վեր ռուսների շահերը սահմանափակվում են:

«ՌՍՖՍՀ-ում էր մնում հարկերի 50 տոկոսը, իսկ ազգային հանրապետություններում՝ 100 տոկոսը: Ինչո՞ւ: Ռուս ժողովուրդն ինչո՞ւ պիտի 2 անգամ վատ ապրի: Ռուսներն աշխատում են արդյունաբերության մեջ, կանայք էլ են աշխատում, որովհետեւ աշխատուժը չի բավականացնում: Իսկ ազգային ծայրամասերում կանայք երեխաների հետ տանն են նստած»,- ասել է քաղաքական գործիչը:
