 Դոնալդ Թրամփը ստանձնեց ԱՄՆ նախագահի պաշտոնը: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Թրամփը երդման տեքստն արտասանեց` ձեռքը դնելով Աստվածաշնչի վրա:

ԱՄՆ 45-րդ նախագահի երդմնակալության պաշտոնական արարողությունը տեղի ունեցավ ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի շենքի դիմաց:

«Ես՝ Դոնալդ Ջոն Թրամփս, հանդիսավոր երդվում եմ հավատարիմ կերպով իրականացնել ԱՄՆ նախագահի պարտականությունները և առավելագույն կարողություններիս չափով պահպանել և պաշտպանել Միացյալ Նահանգների Սահմանադրությունը»,- հետևելով ԱՄՆ գերագույն դատարանի նախագահ Ջոն Ռոբերթսին` երդման տեքստն արտասանեց Դոնալդ Թրամփը:

Երդման արարողության ներկա էր գրեթե ողջ ամերիկյան քաղաքական էլիտան: Մի շարք դեմոկրատ սենատորներ և կոնգրեսականներ հրաժարվել էին մասնակցել Թրամփի երդմնակալության արարողությանը: Ներկա էին նաև ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահներ Ջիմի Քարթերը, Բիլ Քլինթոնը, Ջորջ Բուշ կրտսերը և գործող նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման` կանանց հետ: Բիլ Քլինթոնին ուղեկցում էր ընտրություններում պարտված դեմոկրատ թեկնածու Հիլարի Քլինթոնը: Նախկին նախագահ Ջորջ Բուշ ավագը առողջական խնդիրների պատճառով ներկա չի գտնվել արարողությանը:

Նոյեմբերի 8-ին ԱՄՆ-ում կայացած նախագահական ընտրությունների արդյունքներով հաղթել է հանրապետական Դոնալդ Թրամփը: Նա հավաքել է Ընտրական քոլեջի ընտրիչների ձայներից 304, իսկ նրա մրցակից դեմոկրատ Հիլարի Քլինթոնը 227: Այնուամենայնիվ, քաղաքացիների ուղիղ ձայների բացարձակ մեծամասնությունը հավաքել է Քլինթոնը` շուրջ 66 միլիոն ձայն կամ 48.2 տոկոսը, իսկ Թրամփը հավաքել էր շուրջ 3 միլիոնվ պակաս` շուրջ 63 միլիոն կամ 46.1 տոկոս: Ընտրիչների քոլեջի և քաղաքացիների ձայների նմանատիպ տարբերակում վերջին անգամ արձանագրվել է 2000թ-ին, երբ թեկնածուներն էին հանրապետական Ջորջ Բուշ կրտսեր և դեմոկրատ Ալ Գորը:
