Ֆրանսիայի նախկին նախագահ Ժակ Շիրակն առաջադրվել Է Խաղաղության Նոբելյան մրցանակի թեկնածու:
 
Այդ մասին հայտնել Է Le Figaro թերթը: Նրա տվյալներով՝ դոսյեն եւ կից նամակը Նոբելյան կոմիտեին են հանձնվել հունվարի 23-ին:
 
Միջազգային բարձր պարգեւն ստանալու համար Ժակ Շիրակի թեկնածությունն առաջադրելու առաջարկությունն արել են նրա մի խումբ վաղեմի ընկերներն ու քաղաքական զինակիցները՝  «բազմաբեւեռ աշխարհի ստեղծման գործընթացում ներդրած ավանդի համար»:
 
Նրանց թվում են՝ Ֆրանսիայի Ազգային ժողովի նախկին նախագահ Բեռնար Ակուայեն, նախկին վարչապետ Ժան Պիեռ Ռաֆարենը, ինչպես նաեւ Ֆրեդերիկ Սալա-Բարուն՝ Ելիսեյան պալատի նախկին գլխավոր քարտուղարն ու Ժակ Շիրակի փեսան: Le Figaro-ի տվյալներով՝ նման նախաձեռնության գաղափարը նրանց մոտ առաջացել Է 2016 թվականի ամռանը: 
 
Նախաձեռնող խումբն ստեղծել Է «Ժակ Շիրակ, երկխոսությանն ու խաղաղությանը հավատարիմ քաղաքական գործիչ» ասոցիացիան: Այն գլխավորել Է ազդեցիկ քաղաքական գործիչ, Էկոնոմիկայի նախկին նախարար Տիերի Բրետոնը: Խաղաղության Նոբելյան մրցանակ ստանալու համար Շիրակին առաջադրելու գաղափարի աջակցման հանրագիրն ստացել Է արդեն 280 պատգամավորների ստորագրությունը, հիմնականում «Հանրապետականներ» կուսակցության ներկայացուցիչների:
 
Ստեֆան դե Ֆոլը՝ Ֆրանսիայի կառավարության պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչը, հունվարի 25-ին ելույթ ունենալով «Ֆրանս-ինֆո» ռադիոկայանի եթերում, ողջունել Է այս նախաձեռնությունը: «Խաղաղության Նոբելյան մրցանակով պարգեւատրելու համար Ֆրանսիայի նախկին նախագահ Ժակ Շիրակի թեկնածության առաջադրումը միանգամայն տրամաբանական նախաձեռնություն Է: Իր պաշտոնավարման ընթացքում նա մեծ աշխատանք Է կատարել»,-ասել Է Լե Ֆոլը: 
 
Ժակ Շիրակը Ֆրանսիայի նախագահն Է եղել երկու ժամկետով՝ 1995-2002 եւ 2002-2007 թվականներին, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
