Հոկտեմբերի 10-ին, տեսնելով որ Հայաստանի անողնաշարավորները Հայաստանի անունից ստորագրություն դրեցին, հիասթափությունից կամ գուցե անզորությունից գրառում արեցի, որ կամ Հայաստանը կհանենք այդ ճահիճից, կամ էլ ես կհրաժարվեմ մի պետության քաղաքացի լինել, որը ստորադասված է կրեմլներին.....
Իրականում հուզականությունս խեղդեց ուժականությանս, մի պահ զգացի անօգնական, անպետք, ապտակ ստացած, նվաստացած, գիտակացեցի, որ լեոնիդների, մովսեսների ու մոնթեների հիշատակների առաջ կանգնած եմ անպատասխանատու, գլուխս կախ, գիտակցեցի, որ արժանի չեմ նրանց արածին, նրանց երազած վաղվա օրվա քաղաքացին չեմ, ում սուրբ պարտականությունը պետք է լիներ նրանց արածը գոնե չկորցնելը...Այնպես չի, որ հիմա գրում եմ ու զգացողությունս անցայլում է, ոչ, ոչ մի բան անցյալում չի, ոչ նրանց արածը, ոչ էլ իմ անպատասխանատու լինելը, բոլորը նույն երկնքի տակ են, նույն հողի վրա, նույն էության անհամատեղելի սափորի մեջ...
Պարզապես հանձնվելը ավելի անբարո է, հանձնվելը նրանց հիշատակն անարգել է նշանակում, հանձնվելը կրկնակի անարդարություն է....
Իսկ հոկտեմբերի 10-ի վիճակը, Սերժն ու մյուսները հետևանք են, նրանք պատճառ չեն, նրանք հետևանքն են մեր հարմարվողականության, մեր եսասիրության, մեր վախկոտության, սեփական կաշվի մասին շատ մտածելու, որով չենք տարբերվում անասունից.....
