ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը փետրվարի 1-ին ընդունեց Հայաստանում Կանադայի դեսպան Ջոն Քյորին, ով փոխանցեց Կանադայի ԱԳ նախարար Քրիստիա Ֆրիլանդի` իր հայ գործընկերոջն ուղղված ուղերձը` դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատման 25-ամյակի կապակցությամբ։ Նախարար Նալբանդյանը, շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ուղերձի համար, իր հերթին դեսպանին հանձնեց Քրիստիա Ֆրիլանդին հասցեագրված ուղերձը։

Զրուցակիցները բարձր գնահատեցին 25 տարի առաջ դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատումից ի վեր հայ-կանադական դինամիկ զարգացող գործընկերությունը, անդրադարձ կատարեցին համագործակցության նոր ոլորտներին և դրանց հեռանկարներին:

Հանդիպմանը քննարկվեցին քաղաքական երկխոսության, առևտրատնտեսական փոխգործակցության, բարձր տեխնոլոգիաների, գյուղատնտեսության ոլորտներում, մշակութային փոխանակումների ակտիվացման ուղղությամբ ձեռնարկվող քայլերը։

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից, Հայաստանի ԱԳ նախարարը և Կանադայի դեսպանը գոհունակությամբ արձանագրեցին երկկողմ և բազմակողմ ձևաչափերով սերտ փոխգործակցությունը: Մտքեր փոխանակվեցին ՄԱԿ-ի, Ֆրանկոֆոնիայի և ԵԱՀԿ շրջանակներում արդյունավետ փոխգործակցության շուրջ։

Նախարար Նալբանդյանն ու դեսպան Քյորն անդրադարձան մարդկության դեմ հանցագործությունների և ցեղասպանությունների կանխարգելման ուղղությամբ համագործակցությանն առնչվող հարցերի։

Հանդիպմանն արծարծվեց մերձավորարևելյան զարգացումների հետևանքով միգրացիոն հոսքերի խնդիրը։

Նախարար Նալբանդյանը, բարձր գնահատելով հայ-կանադական հարաբերությունների զարգացման գործում դեսպան Քյորի անձնական ներդրումը, Կանադայի դեսպանին հանձնեց ԱԳՆ պատվո մեդալը:
