Արարատի մարզպետի պաշտոնը ստանձնելու առաջարկություն Արամայիս Գրիգորյանը ստացել է և հանրապետության նախագահից, և վարչապետից: Գրիգորյանն այդ մասին նշեց կառավարության նիստից հետո: «Ինձ հետ վարչապետն է զրուցել, և ես տվել եմ իմ համաձայնությունը», -  Արմենպրեսի հաղորդմամբ, ասաց Արամայիս Գրիգորյանը: Հարցին՝ իր նշանակումը չունի՞ քաղաքական միտում և նպատակ չկա՞ մարզում թուլացնել նախկին վարչապետ Հովիկ Աբրահամյանի ազդեցությունը, Արամայիս Գրիգորյանն ասաց, որ դա իր խնդիրը չէ:

«Կարծում եմ` դա իմ հարցը չէ, որովհետև ես ժողովրդին ծառա եմ գնում, ես աշխատել եմ այդ տարածքում, ժողովուրդն ինձ շատ լավ է ճանաչում, ես էլ ժողովրդին եմ շատ լավ ճանաչում: Այնպես չէ, որ այստեղ քաղաքականություն է: Ես գնում եմ ծառայելու, որպեսզի կարողանանք մի բան ավելի անել մեր ժողովրդի հոգսերը թեթևացնելու համար», - ասաց նորանշանակ մարզպետը:

Անդրադառնալով մարզպետարանում հնարավոր կադրային փոփոխություններին՝ Գրիգորյանը նշեց, որ պրոֆեսիոնալները շարունակելու են աշխատել: «Բոլոր այն մարդիկ, որոնք կարողանում են աշխատել, պրոֆեսիոնալ իրենց գործն անել ու վայելում են ժողովրդի կողմից հարգանք, պետք է մնան ու շարունակեն աշխատել», - ընդգծեց Գրիգորյանը:
