Կա կարծիք, որ շները մարդկանց ընկերներն են: Այս երկու պատմություններն ապացուցում են, որ շները միշտ սիրում են իրենց տերերին և հավետ հավատարիմ են նրանց: Նրանք վտանգում են իրենց կյանքը հանուն սիրելիների, քանի որ առանց վերջիններիս շներն իրենց կյանքն անիմաստ են համարում:

Հրեշտակ

2010 թ. տասնմեկամյա մի տղա՝ Օսթին անունով, որն ապրում է Կանադայում, տան հետնաբակում խաղում էր իր 18 ամսական ռետրիվերի հետ: Շան անունը Հրեշտակ էր: Օսթինը փայտ էր հավաքում վառարանի համար, իսկ շունը ամբողջ ընթացքում հետևում էր նրան: Հանկարծակի մի հովազ է հայտնվում, և շունը միանգամից թռչում է նրա վրա՝ իր տիրոջը հարձակումից պաշտպանելու համար:

Հրեշտակն ու պուման սկսեցին կատաղի մենամարտել: Օսթինի մայրը որդուն միանգամից տուն տարավ և ոստիկանություն զանգահարեց: Րոպեներ անց ոստիկանության աշխատակիցը ժամանեց՝ պումային ոչնչացնելու համար:

Բոլորը կարծում էին, որ Հրեշտակը մահացել է, քանի որ տեսել էին, թե ինչպես է պուման խորը կծում նրա պարանոցը, և արյան գետեր էին հոսում: Այնուամենայնիվ, Հրեշտակը դեռ ողջ էր: Առաջին բանը, որ շունն արեց, մոտենալն էր Օսթինին և համոզվելը, որ նրա հետ ամեն ինչ լավ էր:

Լիզան հիվանդանոցից տուն էր վերադառնում, երբ նկատեց, որ իր նախկին ընկեր Ուոլթերը սպասում էր իրեն բնակարանի ներսում: Լիզան վերջինիս խնդրում էր հեռանալ, դրա հետևանքով ուժգին վեճ սկսվեց: Արդյունքում Ուոլթերը կոտրեց հեռուստացույցը, ապտակեց Լիզային և դանակ պահեց նրա վրա:

Լսելով կնոջ բղավոցները՝ Ռոդրիքը գնաց մորը փրկելու: Լյուսին՝ պիտբուլը, տիրոջ կողքին էր: Տեսնելով, որ Լիզան վտանգի մեջ է, Լյուսին հարձակվեց Ուոլթերի վրա և սկսեց կծել նրան: Ուոլթերը վնասեց շան պարանոցը, և վերջինս սկսեց արնահոսել, սակայն չդադարեց պայքարել:

Տեսնելով, որ շունը վիրավոր է, Լիզայի երեք որդիները վազեցին նրան օգնելու՝ Ուոլթերին գետին տապալելով: Տղաներից մեկը ձեռքից վիրավորվեց: Ոստիկանությունը ժամանեց և ձերբակալեց Ուոլթերին:

Ցավոք սրտի, պիտբուլը չկարողացավ շարունակել ապրել: Դեպքից անմիջապես հետո Լիզան սրբիչով կապել էր շան պարանոցը՝ փորձելով դադարեցնել արյունահոսությունը: Սակայն հաջորդ օրը Լյուսիի սիրտը կանգնեց, և նա «հանկարծամահ» եղավ:
