Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքարանի հոգևոր խորհրդի նախագահ Սահակ եպիսկոպոս Մաշալյանը պատրիարքի ընտրությունների հետ կապված վերջին իրադրության մասին հայտարարություն է հրապարակել, որտեղ ներկայացրել է Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Երկրորդի հետ ունեցած հեռախոսազրույցի մանրամասները:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է Արմենպրեսը, Մաշալյանը պատմել է, որ իր հետ հեռախոսազրույցի ժամանակ Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսն անընդունելի է համարել տեղապահի ընտրությունը և դրան զուգահեռ պատրիարքական փոխանորդի պաշտոնի պահպանումը: «Սահակ Սրբազան, դա ընդունելի չէ: Մեզ խայտառակելո՞ւ եք մյուս եկեղեցիների առջև: Ես միայն տեղապահին կճանաչեմ: Եթե նա ընտրվի, մյուս բոլորը պաշտոնաթող կարվեն: Բացի այդ, եկեղեցական օրենքին դեմ է, որ երկու եպիսկոպոսի առկայության պարագայում եկեղեցական ավելի ցածր աստիճան ունեցող հոգևորականը դառն ա տեղապահ: Ինչո՞ւ եք նման տարօրինակ քայլի դիմել»,- հարցրել է Գարեգին Երկրորդը:

Ի պատասխան նման հարցադրման` Մաշալյանն ասել է, որ Արամ սրբազանն ընդիմանում է և հրաժարվում է հրաժարական տալ: Նա ընդգծել է, որ ոչ ոք այլևս չի ցանկանում այդ պաշտոնում տեսնել Աթեշյանին, սակայն վերջինս էլ չի ցանկանում իր ընտրությունը տեղապահի պաշտոնում: «Մտածեցինք, որ եթե եկեղեցական ավելի ցածր աստիճանի հոգևորականի ընտրենք, կկարողանանք պահպանել ընտրական գործընթացի անկողմնակալությունը: Միայն այդպիսի լուծում կարողացանք գտնել»,- ասել է Մաշալյանը Գարեգին Երկրորդին:

Ամենայն Հայոց կաթողիկոսը, հասկանալով իրադրությունը, երկու սրբազաններին հրավիրել է Հայաստան` լուծում գտնելու նպատակով: «Սուրբ Էջմիածնի հովանու ներքո զրուցենք, մեր աղոթքն ասենք առ Աստված: Այդ ժամանակ անպայման լուծման մի ուղի կգտնենք»,- ասել է կաթողիկոսը:

Եպիսկոպոս Մաշալյանը հեռախոսազրույցի ժամանակ նշել է, որ Պոլսո պատրիարքարանում իրենից ու Աթեշյանից բացի, կա նաև երրորդ սրբազանը` Գերմանիայի Հայոց թեմի առաջնորդ Գարեգին արքեպիսկոպոս Բեքչյանը: «Մեր շատ արժեքավոր մեծերից է: Նրան փոքր-ինչ անտեսել ենք, սակայն այդ խնդրում նա կարող է առանցքային դերակատարում ունենալ»,- ասել է Մաշալյանը, ինչին ի պատասխան Գարեգին Երկրորդը համաձայնել է նրան էլ Մայր Աթոռ հրավիրել:

Եզրափակելով հրապարակած հայտարարությունը` Մաշալյանը գրել է. «Ահա այսպես, սիրելի ընկերներ, գալիք շաբաթվա մեջ ամենահարմար օրը ժամանում ենք Սուրբ Էջմիածին: Երեք սրբազաններով այնտեղ ծնկելու ենք, մեղքերի թողություն խնդրելու մեզ և ձեզ համար ու այնտեղից մի փունջ խաղաղության ծաղիկներ առնելով վերադառնալու ենք: Մեր նկատմամբ էլ ներողամիտ եղեք, քանի որ չկարողացանք լավ օրինակ ծառայել ձեզ համար, մեր մեջ բանտարկեցինք Քրիստոսի սերն ու լույսը: Թող Աստված նոր հնարավորություններ ընձեռնի անցյալի մեր սխալները փոխհատուցելու համար»:
