Էպիֆիզ

Էպիֆիզը, կարգավորում է օրգանիզմում ռիթմիկ կամ ցիկլիկ ընթացող (օրինակ՝ օվարիալ դաշտանային ցիկլը) պրոցեսները։ Այլ պարբերական ֆունկցիաների ռիթմիկ տատանումները, որոնց ինտենսիվությունը օրինաչափորեն փոխվում է օրվա ընթացքում, կոչվում են ցիրկադային (լատ.՝ circa diem – շուրջ օր)։ Ցիրկադային ռիթմերով պայմանավորված՝ էպիֆիզը առաջացնում է հորմոններ և տարբերակում օրգանիզմում լուսային գրգիռների փոխարինումը մթնայինի։ 

Էպիֆիզն ավելի շատ հայտնի է «3-րդ աչք»-ով, որի մասին հաճախ խոսում են էքստրասենսները։

Ապենդիքսը կամ որդանման ելունն իրենից ներկայացնում է մի խողովակավոր օրգան, որը սկսվում է անմիջապես կույր աղու գմբեթի շրջանում, ուր միանում են նրա երեք ժապավենները: Ելունի երկարությունը տատանվում է 4-5սմ-ից մինչև 25սմ, միջինում հաճախ նա լինում է 8-10սմ, հաստությունը՝ 0.3-1.0սմ: Ելունի լուսանցքը պատված է լորձաթաղանթով, որը հարուստ է ավշային ֆոլիկուլներով, որոնք մանկական հասակում ավելի զարգացած են և շատ: Որդանման ելունը տեղակայված է ներորովայնամզային, ունի իր միջընդերքը, որի մեջ կան ճարպային հյուսվածք, անոթներ և նյարդեր:

Նշագեղձերը պատնեշի դեր են տանում ընդդեմ վիրուսների ու բակտերիաների, որոնք կարող են վարակել մարդու շնչելու ժամանակ։ Երկար բորբոքումը նշիկները պաշտպանիչից վերածում են վարակման աղբյուրի, այդ ժամանակ էլ դրանք հեռացնում են․

Ժամանակակից բժշկությունը մինչև հիմա չի կարողանում ճիշտ որոշել փայծաղի դերը։ Հայտնի է միայն, որ փայծաղի շնորհիվ արյունը հարստանում է նրա մեջ գոյացող լեյկոցիտների թարմ պաշարով։ Բացի այդ, փայծաղի միջով անցնող արյունը այդ օրգանի ցանցավոր հյուսվածքի բջիջների բջջակներ(ֆագոցիտային) գործունեության շնորհիվ ազատվում է արյան հնացած կարմիր մարմնիկներից (էրիթրոցիտների գերեզմանատուն) և արյան հունի մեջ ընկած ախտածին միկրոբներից, կախյալ օտար և այլ մարմիններից։
