Թագավորական ընտանիքում ապրելն այնքան էլ հեշտ չէ։ Նրանք մշտապես շրջապատված են լրագրողներով ու այլ մարդկանցով, որոնք ամեն պահի հետևում են ոչ միայն իրենց հագուստին, ժեստերին ու պահվածքին, այլև այն բառերին, որոնք նրանք օգտագործում են։

Interesnoznat-ը գրում է, որ մարդաբան Քեյթ Ֆոքսը հեղինակել է «Watching the English: The Hidden Rules of English Behavior» գիրքը, որտեղ մանրամասն ներկայացրել է, թե ինչ բառեր չպետք է օգտագործեն թագավորական ընտանիքի անդամները, ինչպես նաև այն մարդիկ, որոնք հյուրընկալվել են նրանց։

1.      TOILET (զուգարան)

Թագավորական ընտանիքի անդամները չեն օգտագործում զուգարան բառը։ Դրա փոխարեն նրանք օգտագործում են  lavatory- պետքարան բառը։ Ի դեպ, թագավորական էթիկետն արգելում է նաև օգտագործել այս բառի բոլոր հոմանիշները՝ bathroom – բաղնիք կամ ladies– կանանց սենյակ։

2.    PARDON (ներողություն եմ խնդրում)

Եթե հանկարծ թագավորական ընտանիքի անդամներից մեկը չի լսում, թե ինչ եք ասում, ապա նա երբեք չի ասի pardon – ներողություն եմ խնդրում կամ sorry – կներեք, նա պարզապես կասի What – ի՞նչ։

3.    COUCH (թախտ)

Թագուհին կարող է նստել sofa-ին բազմոց, սակայն երբեք չի օգտագործի couch–թախտ բառը, որը նույն բազմոցն է, սակայն  համարվում է ցածր խավին հարիր բառ։

4.      LIVING ROOM (հյուրասենյակ)

Եթե երբևիցե հայտնվեք Բուքինգհեմյան պալատում, չհարցնեք, թե ինչպես կարելի է անցնել living room, lounge – հանգստասենյակ։ Նրանց հյուրասենյակը կոչվում է drawing room, որը բառացի թարգմանվում է նկարչության սենյակ, բայց օգտագործվում է նաև որպես հյուրասենյակ։

5.      DAD (պապա)

Թագավորական ընտանիքի երեխաներին փոքրուց սովորեցնում են ծնողներին դիմել Daddy-հայրիկ  և Mummy-մայրիկ։

6.    PERFUME (օծանելիք)

Թագավորական ընտանիքի անդամներն օգտագործում են scent –բույր, ոչ թե օծանելիք, որը կարող է գնել յուրաքանչյուրը։

7.      PATIO (ներքին բակ)

Թագավորական ընտանիքում արգելված է ասել patio–ներքնագավիթ բառը, այդ պատճառով էլ նրանց երեխաները զբոսնում են միայն terrace-ում՝ ներքին բակում։

8.      POSH (ճոխ)

Այս ընտանիքում օգտագործում են միայն smart – խելացի բառը, իսկ posh-ճոխ բառը հատուկ է ցածր խավին։
