 Հայաստանի Հանրային խորհրդի նախագահ Վազգեն Մանուկյանը տրամաբանական քայլ է համարում Եվրասիական տնտեսական միության ստեղծումը: Երևանում միջազգային երկխոսության «Վալդայ» ակումբի արտագնա նիստի շրջանակներում իր ելույթում Վազգեն Մանուկյանը նշեց, որ Արևմուտքում երբեմն խոսում են, թե Վլադիմիր Պուտինը ցանկանում է վերականգնել Խորհրդային Միությունը: «Բայց ես պատասխանում եմ, ոչ, դա այդպես չէ: Եվրասիակա ն տնտեսական միության ձևավորումը ճիշտ քայլ է, միության անդամ երկրների զարգացման և առաջընթացի տեսանկյունից»,- «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ նշեց Մանուկյանը:

Անդրադառնալով ԵԱՏՄ-ում առկա խնդիրներին՝ Վազգեն Մանուկյանն ընդգծեց, որ ամենամեծ խնդիրը Ռուսաստանի և Արևմուտքի հակասություններն են: «Ես կարծում եմ, որ նրանք պետք է ինչ-որ կերպ պայմանավորվեն և վերջ դնեն այդ հակասություններին: Եթե Հայաստանն իր սփյուռքի ներուժի հաշվին կարող է այդ հարցում որևէ կերպ օգնել, ես կարծում եմ, որ մենք պատրաստ  ենք դա անել, որովհետև ցանկացած հակասություն, հատկապես մեր տարածաշրջանում, հարվածում է նաև մեր ազգային շահերին»,- ասաց Հանրային խորհրդի նախագահը:

ԵԱՏՄ-ի առաջընթացի համար Վազգեն Մանուկյանը անհրաժեշտ է համարում խոշոր պլանների նախագծումը և իրականացումը: Նրա խոսքով՝ ամենախոշոր պլանը կարող է լինել ռազմաարդյունաբերական կոմպլեքսի զարգացումը, ինչը կարող է միության տնտեսության առաջընթացի լոկոմոտիվը լինել:

Միևնույն ժամանակ, Հայաստանի Հանրային խորհրդի նախագահն այն կարծիքին է, որ որևէ տնտեսական միություն չի կարող գոյատևել առանց ընդհանուր քաղաքականության: Վազգեն Մանուկյանը նկատում է, որ ԵԱՏՄ-ում դեռևս չկա ընդհանուր քաղաքականություն: Նա բերեց ռուս բլոգեր Ալեքսանդր Լապշինի օրինակը, որին Բելառուսը արտահանձնեց Ադրբեջանին այն պարագայում, երբ ԵԱՏՄ-ում նրա գործընկերներ Հայաստանն ու Ռուսաստանը դեմ էին իրադարձությունների այդպիսի զարգացմանը: Բացի այդ՝ Մանուկյանը գտնում է, որ առանց ընդհանուր արժեքների ընդհանուր քաղաքականություն չի կարող ձևավորվել՝ նկատելով, որ ԵԱՏՄ անդամ երկրներում չկան նաև ընդհանուր արժեքներ:
