Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքի տեղապահ ընտրված Գարեգին արքեպիսկոպոս Բեքչյանը պատրիարքի ընտրությունների հետ կապված խնդրի միակ լուծումը համարում է պատրիարքական փոխանորդ Արամ արքեպիսկոպոս Աթեշյանի հրաժարականը:

Այս մասին հայտնում է «Ակոս» պարբերականը:

Մարտի 15-ին` տեղապահի ընտրությունների արդյունքի հայտնի դառնալուց անմիջապես հետո Աթեշյանը, որը պարտություն էր կրել, ներկայացրել էր Ստամբուլի նահանգապետարանից ուղարկված մի փաստաթուղթ, որով տեղական իշխանությունները հայտնում էին տեղապահի ընտրությունները չճանաչելու, տվյալ ժամանակահատվածում պատրիարքի ընտրություններ անցկացնելու անհնարինության մասին: Ի պատասխան այս գրության` Արամ Աթեշյանի և Սահակ Մաշալյանի կողմից գլխավորած խումբը նախատեսում է այցելել Ստամբուլի նահանգապետարան:

«Այցելության ժամանակ խմբում ես չեմ լինի: Հանդիպմանը մերոնք ներկայացնելու են տեղապահի ընտրության տրամաբանությունը: Դրանից հետո հայտարարություն է արվելու: Այս ամենը տեղի կունենա մի քանի օրվա ընթացքում: Ես էլ այս ընթացքում այստեղ կլինեմ»,- նշել է Բեքչյանը:

Նա ընդգծել է, որ իրենք հարգում են պետության կողմից եկած ցանկացած գրություն: Ստացված հայտարարության բովանդակության հստակեցման համար էլ գնում են նահանգապետարան: «Եթե Աթեշյանը տեղյակ էր այս գրությունից, անհրաժեշտ էր, որ նա դա ներկայացներ նախքան հավաքվելը: Մենք էլ որոշում կկայացնեինք դրան համապատասխան, սակայն ինչ լինելու էր, եղավ: Այս խնդրի լուծումը միայն մի տարբերակ ունի` դա Արամ Աթեշյանի հրաժարականն է»,- հայտարարել է Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքի ընտրված տեղապահը:

Ստամբուլի նահանգապետարանը միջամտել է Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքական ընտրությունների անցկացմանը: Ստամբուլի նահանգապետի տեղակալը նախքան պատրիարքարանում  Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքի տեղապահի ընտրությունների սկսելը պատրիարքարան է  ուղարկել գրություն, որն իրավաբանորեն անհնար է համարում պատրիարքական  ընտրությունների գործընթացի մեկնարկը:

Այս գրությունը Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքի տեղապահի ընտրություններից անմիջապես հետո պատրիարքարանի հոգևորականներին է ներկայացրել տեղապահի ընտրություններում պարտված փոխանորդ Արամ արքեպիսկոպոս Աթեշյանը:

Նահանգապետարանի ուղարկած գրության մեջ նշվում է. «Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքի ընտրության գործընթացի սկսելը նահանգապետարանի կողմից համարվում է իրավաբանորեն անհնար»:

Պատրիարքարանում տեղապահի  ընտրության նպատակով 2017-ի մարտի 15-ին հրավիրված հոգևորականների ժողովը մեկնարկել է ժամը 15:00-ին, իսկ գրությունը նահանգապետարանից պատրիարքարան է ուղարկվել ժամը 13:47:

Արամ արքեպիսկոպոս Աթեշյանը գրությունը հրապարակել է միայն այն ժամանակ, երբ պարզվել է, որ ինքը պարտվել է տեղապահի ընտրություններում:
