Մարտի 24-ին Ֆլորիդայի իր բնակարանում մահացել է հայ ճանաչված ջազ-դաշնակահար և հանրահայտ AVO ֆիրմայի սիգարների ստեղծող Ավո Ուվեզյանը: Երկու օր առաջ՝ մարտի 22-ին, նա դարձել էր 91 տարեկան: «Հայերն այսօր»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին հայտնում է cigaraficionado.com կայքը:

«Այո, թերևս, ես իսկապես երջանիկ մարդ եմ: Իսկ գիտե՞ս, թե ինչն է պակասում կատարյալ երջանկության համար: Հայրենիքում լինելն ու Արարատ լեռը տեսնելը»,- տարիներ առաջ ասել էր ամերիկյան էստրադայի խորհրդանիշներից մեկը դարձած «Strangers in the Night» լեգենդար երգի հեղինակը, ով նաև ստեղծել է նույնչափ լեգենդար «Avo» սիգարային բրենդը՝ Ավո Ուվեզյանը:

Նա երազանք ուներ՝ լինել Հայաստանում:

«Անպատճառ պետք է գամ Հայաստան»,-  ծննդյան 90-ամյակի կապակցությամբ  Հայաստանի վարչապետի հուշամեդալով պարգևատրման արարողության ժամանակ ասել էր նա:

Ուվեզյանի հաջողությունները բիզնեսի ոլորտում նույնչափ զգալի էին, որքան և ստեղծագործական ասպարեզում: Սիգարների արտադրության և մարկետինգի ոլորտում որոշակի փորձ ունեցող իր ընկերոջ` Ժակ Մելքոնյանի համառ խորհրդով նա որոշել էր ոսկերչությունը փոխարինել ծխախոտային բիզնեսով: Սեփական արտադրանքն Ավոն անվանել է իր անունով, որը հայերենում նշանակում է «բարի լուր»: Մի օր Ֆիդել Կաստրոն անձամբ զանգահարել է Ուվեզյանին և խնդրել «Avo» սիգարների մի քանի տուփ ուղարկել իրեն: Իսկ Ջորջ Բուշ ավագը մի անգամ մոտեցել է Ավոյին հյուրանոցում` ծանոթանալու իր սիրած սիգարների արտադրողի հետ:
