Հայ թատերարվեստը ծանր կորուստ կրեց. 2017 թվականի մարտի 26-ին, 82 տարեկան հասակում, կյանքից հեռացավ ՀՀ ժողովրդական արտիստ, Գ. Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային ակադեմիական թատրոնի դերասան Լորենց Առուշանյանը: ՀՀ վարչապետի որոշմամբ ստեղծվել է Լորենց Առուշանյանի հուղարկավորության կազմակերպման կառավարական հանձնաժողով:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին կառավարական հանձնաժողովից, Լորենց Առուշանյանի հոգեհանգստի արարողությունը տեղի կունենա մարտի 28-ին, ժամը 18:00-20:00-ն, Նոր Նորքի 5-րդ զանգվածի Ս. Սարգիս եկեղեցում: Վերջին հրաժեշտը` մարտի 29-ին, ժամը 12:00-14:00-ն, Գ. Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային ակադեմիական  թատրոնում: Հուղարկավորությունը` ՀՀ Կոտայքի մարզի Մայակովսկի գյուղի գերեզմանատանը:

Լորենց Սուլեյմանի Առուշանյանը ծնվել է 1935 թվականի հուլիսի 6-ին: 1953-57 թթ. սովորել է Երևանի գեղարվեստաթատերական ինստիտուտի դերասանական ֆակուլտետում՝ Վավիկ Վարդանյանի արվեստանոցում: Ավարտելուց հետո շուրջ 5 տարի աշխատել է Լենինականի Մռավյանի անվան պետական դրամատիկական թատրոնում, այնուհետև`  Երևանի Ա. Ս. Ստանիսլավսկու անվան ռուսական դրամատիկական թատրոնում: 1964 թվականից աշխատել է Գ. Սունդուկյանի անվան ազգային ակադեմիական թատրոնում:

Լորենց Առուշանյանը առաջին իսկ բեմելով դրսևորեց բացառիկ տաղանդը: Մտավորականի, ազնվագույն մարդու իր մեղմ, զուսպ և կիրթ կերպարով, նա հաջողեց բեմում և կինոյում` կերպավորումներում անմահանալով որպես ներքին փոթորկումների և ապրումների դերասան, ինչը  բացառիկ շնորհ է մեր արտիստական աշխարհում:

Թատրոնում և ֆիլմերում խաղացած դերերից աչքի են ընկել իշխան Միշկինը (Ֆ. Դոստոևսկի «Ապուշը»), Վասիլը (Ժ. Հարությունյան «Ղազարը գնում է պատերազմ»), Մոորը (Ֆ. Շիլլեր «Ավազակներ»), Կասիոն (Վ. Շեքսպիր «Օթելլո»), Ադամյանը (Ժ.Հարությունյան «Խաչմերուկ»), Մորգենթաունը (Պ. Զեյթունցյան «Ոտքի, դատարանն է գալիս»), Վանահայրը (Լ. Շանթ «Հին աստվածներ»), Գաևը (Ա. Չեխով «Բալի այգին»), Բոկան (Ա. Նիկոլայի «Վերադարձ Սորենտո»), Տեր Հայկազուն (Ֆ. Վերֆել «Մուսա Լեռան 40 օրը»), «Նվագախմբի տղաները», «Ջրհորի մոտ&raq uo;, «Այդ  քաղցր բառը՝ ազատություն», «Ամեն ինչ նորից»: Նշանակալից դերեր է կերտել նաև հեռուստաթատրոնում:

1957 թվականից Հայաստանի թատերական գործիչների միության անդամ է: 1984 թվականին նրան շնորհվել է ՀԽՍՀ վաստակավոր արտիստի կոչում, իսկ 2003 թվականին` ՀՀ ժողովրդական արտիստի կոչում:

Լորենց Առուշանյանը իր ուրույն հետքը թողեց հայ թատերարվեստում:

Նրա պայծառ հիշատակը երկար կմնա գործընկերների, մտերիմների, թատերասեր հասարակության սրտերում:
