 Իրավական հանձնախումբը Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսի անունից Սիսի կաթողիկոսարանի վերադարձի հարցով գրավոր հայց է ներկայացրել Մարդու իրավունքների եվրոպական դատարան:

Ինչպես հայտնեցին Կիլիկիո կաթողիկոսարանի մամլո դիվանից, հանձնախումբը դատարանից պահանջել է 2016 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 7-ին ՄԻԵԴ ուղարկված թղթածրարը չհղել Թուրքիային` հաշվի առնելով այդ երկրի ներում առկա անորոշ իրավիճակը, դատաիրավական օրենքների խախտումները, դատավորների ու փաստաբանների նկատմամբ անօրինական վերաբերմունքը և առհասարակ տիրող բռնատիրական իրավիճակը: Հանձնախումբն ընդգծել է, որ այդ երկրում տիրող մտահոգիչ իրավիճակի մասին փետրվարի 15-ին, ապա մարտի 13-ին իրենց մտավախություններն էին հայտնել ԵԽ մարդու իրավունքների հանձնաժողովը, ապա Վենետիկի հանձնաժողովը:

Իրավական հանձնախումբն առաջարկել է եվրոպական դատարանի 61-րդ հոդվածի համաձայն արագացնել Սիսի կաթողիկոսարանի դատավարությունը` հաշվի առնելով դրա կարևորությունը հայ եկեղեցու և հայ ժողովրդի համար:  

Հանձնախմբից հայտնել են, որ իրենք Վեհափառ Հայրապետի գլխավորությամբ մոտիկից հետևում են Սիսի դատին առնչվող աշխատանքներին:

Թուրքիայի Սահմանադրական դատարանը մերժել է Սիսի կաթողիկոսարանի տարածքի վերադարձի մասին Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո կաթողիկոսության պահանջով դատի քննարկումը: Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո Արամ Ա կաթողիկոսը հայտարարել է հայցը Մարդու իրավունքների եվրոպական դատարան տանելու մասին: Դեկտեմբերի 6-ին թղթածրարը ներկայացվել է դատարան:
