«Առավոտ» թերթն իր խմբագրականում գրում է. «Ինչո՞ւ ՕՐՕ դաշինքը, ունենալով բավականին ուժեղ թիմ և ցուցակի առաջին տեղերում հայտնի, հայրենիքի առջև ծառայություններ ունեցած մարդկանց, ունենալով բավականին սոլիդ նյութական միջոցներ ( իհարկե, զգալիորեն ավելի քիչ, քան ՀՀԿ-ԲՀԿ-ն), ընտրություններում հանդես եկավ մեղմ ասած, իր հնարավորություններից ցածր:


Դրա մասին «պաշտոնապես» չի խոսվել և կարելի է միայն ենթադրություններ անել: Իմ տպավորությամբ՝ այդ դաշինքը ընտրարշավի կեսից մի տեսակ «կոտրվեց»: Գուցե պատճառը Սամվել Բաբայանի ձերբակալությունն էր:


Ի դեպ, նույնիսկ Բաբայանի հարցում ՕՐՕ-ն հստակություն չի մտցնում՝ նա քաղբանտարկյա՞լ է, «Սասնա ծո՞ւռ», թե խեղճ կալանավոր: Վերջին մեկ շաբաթում ՕՐՕ-ի լիդերներն այդ հարցում որևէ հայտարարություն չեն արել:


Բայց լիդերների հարցում էլ պարզություն չկա՝ գուցե նրանք փոխվել են և իմ կողմից հարգված Սեյրան Օհանյանը, Րաֆֆի Հովհաննիսյանն ու Վարդան Օսկանյանն այլևս չեն առաջնորդում դաշինքը, ու այդ դերը ստանձնել են նույնքան հարգված Արմեն Մարտիրոսյանն ու Հովսեփ Խուրշուդյանը: Այդ փոփոխությունը նորմալ է, պարզապես դրա մասին պետք է հայտարարել:


Եվ այսպես, եթե «կոտրվելու» պատճառը Սամվել Բաբայանի ձերբակալությունն էր, ապա պետք է ենթադրել, որ փողի հիմնական աղբյուրը հենց նա էր, կամ էլ նա միջնորդ էր, որը փոխանցում էր այլ աղբյուրից եկած փողը: Հօգուտ այդ ենթադրության խոսում էին պարոն Բաբայանի հարցազրույցները, որոնցում նա հպարտորեն նշում էր, որ դաշինքի ցուցակից հանել է այս կամ այն գործչին»:
