 Լիբանանի Հանրապետության պլանավորման պետական նախարար Միշել Ֆարաոնի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը Հայաստանի տնտեսական զարգացման եւ ներդրումների նախարար Սուրեն Կարայանի, ինչպես նաեւ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի փոխտնօրեն Սուրեն Մանուկյանի ուղեկցությամբ այցելեց Ծիծեռնակաբերդի հուշահամալիր եւ ծաղիկներ խոնարհեց անմար կրակի մոտ: Ծիծեռնակաբերդում պատվիրակությանը դիմավորեց Մոլդովայից ժաման ած երգչախումբը, որը Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակին նվիրեց մոլդովական հոգեւոր երգ:

Միշել Ֆարաոնի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը եղավ նաեւ Հայոց ցեղասպանության թանգարան-ինստիտուտում, որտեղ նրանց ներկայացվեցին պատմության այդ ողբերգական իրադարձությունների մանրամասները, այնուհետեւ Միշել Ֆարաոնը գրառում կատարեց թանգարան-ինստիտուտի հուշամատյանում.

«Լիբանանում մենք ականատեսն ենք եղել Հայոց ցեղասպանության եւ կոտորածների հետևանքներին, եւ սատար ենք կանգնում արդարությանը եւ մեր զորակցությունն ենք հայտնում մարդկանց: Այն, ինչ մենք տեսանք այս թանգարանում, իսկապես, դժվար է հավատալ, բայց ճիշտ է»,- Արմենպրեսի հաղորդմամբ՝ ասված է գրառման մեջ:

Միշել Ֆարաոնը տպավորված էր թանգարանի պատկերներով: Նա նշեց, որ դա տեսնելուց հետո յուրաքանչյուր մարդ ուղղակիորեն պետք է ընդունի, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանություն իսկապես եղել է: «Շատ հուզված եմ այստեղ լինելով, եւ ամենակարեւորը՝ այս ցավի մեջ ես տեսա ապրելու հույս:  Ես գալիս եմ մի երկրից՝ Լիբանանից, որտեղ նույն ժամանակահատվածում շատ մեծ տառապանքներ են տեղի ունեցել  ժողովրդի հետ: Այսօր եւ Հայաստանում, եւ Լիբանանում բոլորս գիտակցում ենք, որ պետք է կանխել այս խավարը: Մենք պետք է ջանք գործադրենք, որ ՄԱԿ-ի եւ այլ բարձր ատյանների միջոցով կանխ վի արյունահոսությունը»,-եզրափակեց նա:   

Լիբանանի պատգամավորների պալատը 2000թ. մայիսի 11-ին ընդունել է Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման և դատապարտման բանաձև, որում ասվում է. «Օսմանյան իշխանության կողմից 1915 թվականին կազմակերպած ջարդերի, որի հետևանքով ոչնչացվեցին 1,5 միլիոն հայեր, 85-րդ տարելիցի  կապակցությամբ Լիբանանի պատգամավորների Պալատը ճանաչում և դատապարտում է հայ ժողովրդի դեմ իրականացված ցեղասպանությունը և հայտնում է իր ողջ համերաշխությունն իր երկրի հայ քաղաքացիներին: Դրանից բացի, Պալատը գտնում է, որ ցեղասպանության միջազգային ճանաչումը հանդիսանում է անհրաժեշտ պայման նմանօրինակ հանցագործությունները կանխելու համար, որոնք կարող են ձեռնարկվել ապագայում»:
