Նախօրեին Ֆրանսիայի լազուրյան ափում բացվեց Կաննի 70-րդ կինոփառատոնը։ Կարմիր գորգին շքեղ հագուստներով հայտնվելուց հետո, աստղերը հավաքվեցին Փառատոնների ու կոնգրեսի պալատում։ 
Փառատոնը վարում էր գեղեցկուհի Մոնիկա Բելուչին, ով բեմում էր հայտնվել բաց ուսերով սև զգեստով։ Սակայն Բելուչին բեմում ցույց տվեց ոչ միայն բաց ուսերը, այլ կուրծքը։ Ելույթի ժամանակ թափանցիկ զգեստի մի հատվածը բացվել էր ու ամբողջությամբ ցուցադրում մերկ կուրծքը։
 
Սակայն սա ամենը չէր, Բելուչին բեմում էր ֆրանսիացի կատակերգում Ալեքս Լուցի հետ միասին։ Մոնիկան դիտարժան անակնկալ էր պատրաստել հանդիսատեսի համար․ Լուցի հետ բեմում  կրքոտ համբույր։
Փառատոնի բացմանը բեմ դուրս եկան ժյուրիի անդամները՝ ժյուրիի նախագահ Պեդրո Ալմադովարի գլխավորությամբ։
