Միացյալ Նահանգների Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Էդ Ռոյսը նամակ է հղել ԱՄՆ գլխավոր դատախազ Ջեֆ Սեշընսին և պետքարտուղար Ռեքս Թիլերսոնին՝ կոչ անելով անհապաղ քայլեր ձեռնարկել պատասխանատվության ենթարկելու այն անձանց, ովքեր պատասխանատու են Թուրքիայի դեսպանի կեցավայրի դիմաց խաղաղ ցուցարարների նկատմամբ իրականացված հարձակումների համար: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին հայտնում է Asbarez-ը:

«Տեսանյութերն ապացուցում են, որ կոստյում կրող տղամարդիկ դաժանորեն ծեծի են ենթարկում մի քանի մարդու, նետում են նրանց հատակին և ոտքով հարվածում գլխներին: Բազմաթիվ լրատվամիջոցներ գրում են, որ այդ անձինք եղել են նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի անվտանգությունից, ովքեր ուղեկցել են նախագահին պաշտոնական այցի ժամանակ: Ահազանգող փաստ է այն, որ նման պահվածքը ապացույցն է Թուրքիայում քաղաքական ակտիվիստների, լրագրողների ու կրոնական ազատության լայնածավալ ոտնահարումների, ինչը վերջին տարիներին մեծ վնաս է հասցրել թուրքական ժողովրդավարությանը», - ասվում է Ռոյսի նամակում:

Նա հորդորել է պետքարտուղարին ու դատախազին անմիջապես զբաղվել այս հարցով և ձեռնարկել անհրաժեշտ քայլեր, քանի դեռ այդ անձինք չենք հեռացել Միացյալ Նահանգներից: «Օտար կառավարությունների գործակալները երբեք չպետք է ապահովագրված լինեն հանցավոր պահվածքի համար»,- նշել է կոնգրեսականը:

Միացյալ Նահանգներ այցելող Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի դեմ մայրաքաղաք Վաշինգտոնում կազմակերպված խաղաղ ցույցի մասնակիցները մի խումբ թուրք ազգայնամոլների կատաղի հարձակման թիրախ են դարձել: Մի քանի վիրավորներ արնաշաղախ հիվանդանոց են տեղափոխվել: Ավելի ուշ հայտնի է դարձել, որ հարձակումն իչրականացրել են Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցները: Ցույցը կազմակերպվել էր Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբի, Ամերիկայի Հելենական խորհրդի եւ մի շարք այլ՝ քրդական, ասորական եւ հունական կազմակերպությունների կողմից: Դեպքին անդրադարձել է նաև ԱՄՆ պետ դեպը՝ նշելով, թե իրենք «անհանգստացած են բռնության միջադեպով, որում ներգրավված են եղել ցուցարարներն ու թուրքական անվտանգության աշխատակիցները»: «Բռնությունը երբեք չի կարող ճիշտ պատասխան լինել ազատ խոսքին»,- ասվում է պետդեպի հայտարարության մեջ:
