Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության ծառայության սեյսմոլոգիական ցանցի կողմից մայիսի 11-ից մինչև 17-ը գրանցված երկրաշարժերից 11-ի համար որոշվել են օջախի հիմնական պարամետրերը: Տեղի ունեցած սեյսմիկ իրադարձություններից 2-ը գրանցվել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության տարածքում`

  • մայիսի 14-ին, ժամը 19:24-ին, M=0.7, Արտաշատ քաղաքից 18 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևելք,
  • մայիսի 15-ին, ժամը 00:50-ին, M=0.8, Աբովյան քաղաքից 20 կմ դեպի արևելք:

Տարածաշրջանում 3 բալ և ավելի ուժգնությամբ գրանցվել է 4 երկրաշարժ: Մայիսի 11-ին 6-7 բալ ուժգնությամբ (մագնիտուդ 4.8) երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Ադրբեջանում՝ Շիրվան քաղաքից 23 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք: Երկրաշարժի հետևանքով Սաբիրաբադի շրջանում բնակիչները խուճապահար լքել են տները: Ստորգետնյա ցնցումները զգացվել են նաև Արցախում և Սյունիքի մարզում, մասնավորապես Ստեփանակերտ, Հադրութ, Կապան և Մեղրի քաղաքներում՝ 3-4 բալ ուժգնությամբ: Մայիսի 11-ին և 13-ին 3 բալ ուժգնությամբ (մագնիտուդ 2.3 և 2.5) երկու երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Թուրքիայում՝ Օզալպ քաղաքից 33 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևմուտք և Դողուբայազեթ քաղաքից 43 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք: Մայիսի 14-ին Իրանում՝ Խոյ քաղաքից 25 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևմուտք գրանցվել է 3-4 բալ ուժգնությամբ (մագնիտուդ 2.8) երկրաշարժ: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՍՊԾ գործակալությունից:

Տարածաշրջանից դուրս 6.0 և ավելի մագնիտուդով 3 երկրաշարժ է գրանցվել: Մայիսի 11-ին Ատլանտյան օվկիանոսի հարավում՝ Հարավային Սանդվիչյան կղզիների տարածքում տեղի է ունեցել 6.4 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ: Հաջորդ օրը 6.2 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է գրանցվել Էլ Սալվադորում՝ նավահանգստային Ակահտուլա քաղաքից 73 կմ դեպի հարավ: Մայիսի 15-ին 6.1 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Պապուա Նոր Գվինեայի Նամատանայի քաղաքից 39 կմ դեպի հարավ: Երկրաշարժերի հետևանքով զոհեր և ավերածություններ չկան:

Նշված ժամանակահատվածում տարածաշրջանից դուրս գրանցվել է նաև 6.0 մագնիտուդից ցածր՝ 5.4 և 5.6 մագնիտուդով երկու երկրաշարժ, որոնց հետևանքով եղել են զոհեր և ավերածություններ: Մայիսի 11-ին Չինաստան-Տաջիկստան սահմանային գոտում` Սինձյան-Ույղուրյան ինքնավար շրջանի Կաշգար քաղաքից 215 կմ հարավ-արևմուտք, գրանցվել է 5.4 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ: Երկու րոպե անց հաջորդել է 5.0 մագնիտուդով երկրորդ ցնցումը, իսկ մեկ ժամ անց` 4.0 մագնիտուդով ևս մեկ ցնցում: Ստորգետնյա ցնցումների հետևանքով զոհվել է առնվազն 8 մարդ, վիրավորվել 23-ը: Ավերվել կամ վնասվել են 1500 տարբեր շինություններ, հիմնականում` բնակելի, շուրջ 790 մարդ մնացել է անօթևան, տուժած շրջաններից տարհանվել է 9200 մարդ: Ընդհանուր թվով տուժել է 12000 բնակիչ:

Մայիսի 13-ին 5.6 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Իրան-Թուրքմենստան սահմանային գոտում՝ Բոժուրդ քաղաքից 25 կմ դեպի հյուսիս: Ստորգետնյա ցնցումների հետևանքով զոհվել է 3 մարդ, տուժել` 400-ը: Երկրաշարժից տուժել է հյուսիս-արևելյան Հորասան նահանգի 100 բնակավայր, ավելի քան 10 գյուղ ավերվել է 60-70%-ով: 11 գյուղում ժամանակավորապես դադարեցվել էր գազա-, ջրա-, էլեկտամատակարարումը: Որոշ լեռնային շրջաններում երկրաշարժին հետևել էր սողանք ու քարաթափում, որի արդյունքում արգելափակվել էր 12 ճանապարհ:
