Հայաստանի Ազգային ժողովի ընտրություններում դիտորդական առաքելություն իրականացրած Եվրոպական խորհրդարանի պատվիրակությունը դրական է գնահատել ընտրությունների ընթացքը, սակայն նշել է, որ դեռ շարունակում են թերություններ մնալ, որոնք լուծման կարիք ունեն:

Մայիսի 25-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանն այս մասին ասաց Եվրոպական խորհրդարանի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Դեյվիդ Մքալիստերը: 

«Մեր ընդհանուր գնահատականի համաձայն` ընտրությունները լավ էին պատրաստված, սակայն դեռ շարունակում են մնալ թերություններ: Մենք պատրաստ ենք օժանդակել Հայաստանին այդ թերությունները վերացնելու հարցում»,- նշեց Մքալիստերը

Նա նշեց, որ Հայաստանի իշխանությունների համար պետք է գերակայություն լինի ընտրությունները դիտարկած կազմակերպությունների գնահատականներն ու առաջարկները քննարկելը: 

«Ես ցանկացած պարագայում Հայաստանի իշխանություններին կոչ եմ անում հաշվի առնել  դիտորդների դիտողություններն ու առաջարկները»,- նշեց Մքալիստերը:

Եվրոպական խորհրդարանի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովի նախագահը նաև նկատեց, որ Հայաստանում Ազգային ժողովի ընտրություններից հետո ձևավորվելու է նոր կառավարություն, որից հասարակությունը մեծ սպասելիքներ ունի դատաիրավական համակարգում, կոռուպցիայի և խտրականության դեմ պայքարում, գործարար միջավայրի բարելավմանն ուղղված  լուրջ բարեփոխումների առումով: Նրա խոսքով` Հայաստանում մարդիկ հատկապես ցանկանում են տեսնել առարկայական քայլեր, որոնք կնպաստեն զբաղվածության մակարդակի բարձրացմանը հատկապես երիտասարդների շրջանում:
