Միացյալ Նահանգները պետք է կոշտ արձագանք տա Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցների գործողություններին ԱՄՆ-ի մայրաքաղաքում, Կոնգրեսում տեղի ունեցած լսումներին հայտարարել են ԱՄՆ-ի կոնգրեսականները: Այդ մասին հայտնում է «Ամերիկայի ձայնը»։

«Ձերզ նման մարդիկ Միացյալ Նահանգներում այլեւս անելիք չունեն, դուք ձեր ժողովրդին չեք ներկայացնում», - Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանին ուղղված այս խոսքերով բացեց Կոնգրեսի լսումները ԱՄՆ-ի կոնգրեսական Դեյնա Ռոռաբահերը: Լսումների ընթացքում Միացյալ Նահանգների օրենսդիրները քննարկում էին մայիսի 16-ին Վաշինգտոնում Թուրքիայի դեսպանի նստավայրի առջեւ «տեղի ունեցած հանցագործությունը», որի ընթացքում, կոնգրեսականների կարծիքով, Ռեջեփ Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցները հարձակվել էին ամերիկացի խաղաղ ցուցարարների վրա. «Մենք չենք ցանկանում խոսել մի մարդու հետ, ով փորձում է ստեղծել իսլամոֆաշիզմ սեփական երկրում, եւ դառնալ գլխավոր ֆաշիստ»:

Կոնգրեսական Ռորաբահերի կոչը միանշանակ էր՝ Էրդողանն այլեւս երբեք չպետք է Միացյալ Նահանգներ հրավիրվի. «Նա թշնամին է այն ամենի, ինչին սատարում ենք մենք, ավելին, նա սեփական ժողովրդի թշնամին է»:

Լսումների ընթացքում կոնգրեսական Սիսիլինին ընդգծեց, որ Էրդողանի հրամանով թուրքական անվտանգության ծառայությունների ներկայացուցիչները Ամերիկայի տարածքում խախտել են ամերիկյան ժողովրդի սահմանադրական իրավունքները, իսկ կոնգրեսական Շերմանն անվանեց տեղի ունեցածը ԱՄՆ-ի ինքնիշխանության դեմ հարձակում.

«Մինչեւ չստանանք անձամբ Էրդողանից պաշտոնական ներողություն, նույնիսկ չպետք է քննարկենք Թուրքիայի հետ նրանց հուզող խնդիրները»:

Հիշեցնենք, որ ԱՄՆ-ում Թուրքիայի դեսպանությունը հայտարարության մեջ նշել էր, որ թուրքական անվտանգության աշխատակիցները ստիպված էին միջամտել Էրդողանի անվտանգության պահպանման նպատակով: Կոնգրեսական Շերմանի խոսքով սակայն տեսագրություն ապացուցում է, որ Ռեջեփ Էրդողանին որեւէ վտանգ չէր սպառնում հեռավոր տարածության վրա հավաքված շուրջ 10 խաղաղ ցուցարարներից. «Դեսպանի հայտարարությունը սուտ է, որը փորձում է կոծկել ֆիզիկական ագրեսիան, եւ նա պետք է անհապաղ դուրս հրավիրվի մեր երկրից»:

Լսումների հրավիրված տուժածներն ու փորձագետները ներկայացրեցին տեղի ունեցածի պատկերը: Մասնավորապես, Վաշինգտոնում Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի գործադիր տնօրեն Արամ Համբարյանի կարծիքով, հարձակումը սկսվեց անսպասելի, կարծես՝ հրամանով. «Երբ ոստիկանները հրահանգում էին նրանց կանգ առնել, նրանք ուղղակի անտեսում էին այդ հրամանները բացարձակապես, մի բան որ ես երբեք չէի տեսել ամերիկյան տարածքում»:
