Մարդու անհետացումը Վրաստանի համար լուրջ մարտահրավեր է: Այդ մասին հայտարարել է Վրաստանի նախագահ Գիորգի Մարգվելաշվիլին՝ արձագանքելով ադրբեջանցի լրագրող և ակտիվիստ Աֆղան Մուխթարլիի առևանգման փաստին։

«Լրագրողի փաստաբանի հայտարարությունը շատ ծանր է մի քանի տեսանկյունից: Առաջին հերթին, պետք է հասկանանք, որ տարածաշրջանում Վրաստանը խոսքի ազատության ու մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության տեսանկյունից առաջատար է: Այս չափորոշիչի պաշտպանությունը մեր պետականության պահպանման հարցն է: Վրաստանի տարածքից՝ կլինի ծովային, օդային, թե ցամաքի ճանապարհով, մարդ է անհետացել: Սա մեր պետության ինքնիշխանության համար լուրջ մարտահրավեր է: Պետությունը պետք է պաշտպանի վարկանիշն ու քաղաքացու իրավունքները, քանզի երկուսն էլ շատ կարևոր են»,- Մարգվելաշվիլիի խոսքն է մեջբերել aliq.ge-ն:

Աֆղան Մուխտարլին հայտնի է որպես ադրբեջանական իշխանությունների վարած քաղաքականության քննադատ: 2015 թվականից ի վեր ստիպված է եղել բնակություն հաստատել Թբիլիսիում: Օրերս նա անհետացել էր, ինչի կապակցությամբ ընտանիքը դիմել էր ոստիկանություն:  Ավելի ուշ նա հայտնվել էր Բաքվում եւ ձերբակալվել:

  Նա հայտարարել է, որ Թբիլիսիի կենտրոնից նրան առեւանգել են քաղաքացիական հագուստով անհայտ անձինք, ովքեր խոսում էին վրացերենով: Նրան նստեցրել են մեքենա եւ դուրս բերել Վրաստանից, ապա դաժան ծեծի են ենթարկել, կապել աչքերը եւ տեղափոխել մեկ այլ մեքենա, իսկ արդեն ադրբեջանական սահմանին կրկին տեղափոխել են երրորդ մեքենա, որում արդեն խոսել են ադրբեջաներենով: Մեքենայում նրա գրպանում խոշոր չափի գումար են դրել, եւ այժմ Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները նրան մեղադրում են գումարի ապօրինի տեղափոխման եւ սահմանը հատելու մեջ: 

Լրագրողի փաստաբանն արդեն հանդիպել է նրան եւ փաստել, որ ոչ քթի եւ ճակատի հատվածում երեւում են ծեծի հետքերը,  աչքերի տակ կապտուկներ են: Աֆղանն ասել է, որ կրծքավանդակում ուժեղ ցավեր ունի, կարծում է, որ կողի կոտրվածք է ստացել:
