Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն այսօր ընդունել է Գերմանիայի Դաշնային Հանրապետության Սոցիալ-դեմոկրատական կուսակցության նախագահության անդամ, Բունդեսթագի բյուջետային հարցերով հանձնաժողովի փոխնախագահ Դիթմար Նիթանին:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Հանրապետության նախագահը ողջունել է հյուրին, բարձր գնահատել նրա գործունեությունը հայ-գերմանական երկկողմ հարաբերությունների ամրապնդման գործում և շնորհակալություն հայտնել Հայոց ցեղասպանության ընդունման ու դատապարտման ուղղությամբ նրա հետևողական ջանքերի համար:

«Հարգելի՛ պարոն Նիթան, Հայաստանում քաջածանոթ են Ձեր գործունեությանը, հատկապես, ինչ վերաբերում է պատմական արդարության վերականգնման և իրերն իրենց անունով կոչելու Ձեր ջանքերին: Ձեր պարագայում դա առավել քան գնահատելի է, որովհետև Դուք, լինելով Գերմանիա-Թուրքիա հարաբերությունների զարգացման կողմնակից, այդուհանդերձ, շատ հստակորեն Ձեր ձայնը բարձրացրիք և պայքարեցիք, որպեսզի Գերմանիան ճանաչի Հայոց ցեղասպանության փաստը՝ այդպիսով Ձեր ներդրումն ունենալով ընդդեմ ցեղասպանությունների, մարդկության դեմ հանցագործությունների կանխարգելման համամարդկային պայքարում»,-ասել է Հանրապետության նախագահը:

Հանդիպման ժամանակ նախագահը Հայոց ցեղասպանության միջազգային ճանաչման գործում ներդրած նշանակալի ավանդի համար Գերմանիայի Դաշնային Հանրապետության Բունդեսթագի պատգամավոր Դիթմար Նիթանին պարգևատրել է Մխիթար Գոշի մեդալով:

Դիթմար Նիթանը Հանրապետության նախագահից շնորհակալությամբ ընդունելով բարձր պարգևը՝ մեջբերել է հայտնի ցեղասպանագետ Էլի Վիզելի խոսքերը՝ «Ով մոռանում է զոհերին՝ սպանում է նրանց երկրորդ անգամ» և ընդգծել, որ, իր համոզմամբ, բոլորը պետք է ջանան ներդրում ունենալ աշխարհում խաղաղության, փոխըմբռնման, հաշտության հաստատման և արդարության վերականգնման գործում: Նա վստահեցրել է, որ ամեն ինչ կանի, որպեսզի իր ջանքերը կես ճանապարհին չմնան, և հայ ժողովրդի դեմ իրականացված ցեղասպանությունը երբեք չմոռացվի:

Հանրապետության Նախագահը հաջողություն է մաղթել Դիթմար Նիթանին և հույս հայտնել, որ նա իր ակտիվ գործունեությամբ կշարունակի այսուհետ ևս ամրապնդել Հայաստանի և Գերմանիայի միջև առկա բարեկամական հարաբերությունները:
