Պրոֆեսիոնալ բռնցքամարտի 5 քաշային կարգերում աշխարհի նախկին չեմպիոն Ֆլոյդ Մեյվեզեր կրտսերը (49–0, 26 նոկաուտ) եւ UFC-ի թեթեւ քաշային կարգում չեմպիոն, խառը մենամարտերի իռլանդացի մարզիկ Քոնոր Մաքգրեգորը պաշտոնապես հաստատել են մենամարտի անցկացման օրը: Մենամարտը տեղի կունենա օգոստոսի 26-ին Լաս Վեգասի MGM Grand մազապալատում: Մարտը կանցկացվի բռնցքամարտի կանոններով, հաղորդում է Daily Mail-ը:

40-ամյա Մեյվեզերն եւ 28-ամյա Մաքգրեգորը վաղուց էին բանակցում մենամարտի վերաբերյալ, սակայն չէին կարողանում փոխհամաձայնության գալ:

Նշվում է, որ կազմակերպիչները 535 միլիոն եվրո եկամուտ են ունենալու այդ մենամարտից: Մաքգրեգորը կստանա մոտ 90 միլիոն եվրո, իսկ ամերիկացի բռնցքամարտիկը՝ ավելի շատ:

Հիշեցնենք, որ 2015 թվականի սեպտեմբերին Ֆլոյդ Մեյվեզերը հայտարարել էր կարիերան ավարտելու մասին, սակայն այս տարվա մարտ ամսին վերսկսել էր կարիերան Քոնոր Մաքգրեգորի հետ մենամարտելու համար: Պրոֆեսիոնալ ռինգում նա անցկացրել է 49 մենամարտ՝ տանելով նույնքան հաղթանակ:
