Հնդկաստանի հյուսիսարևելյան Ասամ, Արունաչալ Պրադեշ, Նագալանդ և Մանիպուր նահանգներում չդադարող հորդառատ անձրևները, ջրհեղեղն ու սողանքները 83 մարդու մահվան պատճառ են դարձել:  

Ինչպես հայտնում է Press TV-ն, երկրի իշխանությունների տեղեկացմամբ` ուրբաթ շուրջ 2 մլն մարդ է տարհանվել: Ամենից շատ տուժել է Ասամ նահանգը, որտեղ 53 մարդ է զոհվել, և մեծ թվով տեղահանումներ են եղել: Փրկարարական և որոնողական աշխատանքները շարունակվում են:   

Երկրի վարչապետ Նարենդրա Մոդին հանձնարարել է կառավարական խումբ կազմել և նախարարի ղեկավարությամբ այցելել վնասված տարածաշրջաններ` գնահատելու վնասի ծավալները: 

Հաղորդվում է, որ Բրահմապուտրա գետը դուրս է եկել ափերից` ողողելով Ասամի «Քազիրանգա» վայրի բնության արգելոցը` ստիպելով կենդանիներին փախչել տարածաշրջանից: 

«Քազիրանգա» ազգային պարկում, որը ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ-ի ժառանգության ցանկի մաս է կազմում, բնակվում է ողջ աշխարհում գրանցված 3000 ռնգեղջյուրից 2500-ը:
