Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը հայտարարել է, որ շատ վճռական է տրամադրված երկրի համար «կրոնապաշտ» սերունդ մեծացնելու հարցում և մոտ ապագայում լուրջ քայլեր կձեռնարկի այդ նպատակին հասնելու համար, գրում է թուրքական diken.com.tr կայքը: 

«Ալլահի կամքով՝ ոչ ոքի ուժը չի ների վայր իջեցնել թուրքական դրոշն ու լռեցնել մեր մզկիթների աղոթքը: Մենք վճռական ենք տամադրված մեծացնելու մի սերունդ, որը լավ կիմանա իր կրոնն ու մշակույթը», - ասել է Էրդողանը:

Նշենք, որ Թուրքիայի հանրապետության հիմնադիր ու առաջին նախագահ Մուսթաֆա Քեմալ Աթաթուրքի նախաձեռնած բարեփոխումների շնորհիվ Թուրքիան Օսմանյան կայսրության տապալումից հետո անցել է աշխարհիկ հասարակության մոդելին, կրոնն անջատվել է սահմանադրությունից և մշակվել է եվրոպական տիպի սահմանադրություն, արգելվել է հիջաբը, կանայք ներառվել են կրթական համակարգում, իսկ բազմաթիվ մզկիթներ ավերվել ու վերածվել են արվեստի կենտրոնների կամ դպրոցների, երբեմն էլ՝ զինանոցների: 

Թուրքիայում նաև 1980թ.-ի ռազմական հեղաշրջումից հետո պաշտոնապես արգելվել էր գլխաշոր կրել ուսումնական հաստատություններում և պետական հիմնարկներում:

Հետագայում արդեն Էրդողանն ու իր կուսակցությունն առաջինն էին, որ համառ ջանքերի շնորհիվ կարողացան վերացնել գլխաշոր կրելու արգելքը Թուրքիայում: Ի սկզբանե դա նաև եղել է Էրդողանի քարոզարշավի առանցքային կետերից մեկը, որն էլ բազմաթիվ կողմնակիցներ բերեց նրան 2002թ.-ից սկսած:

2007թ.-ին դեռևս վարչապետ Էրդողանը համառ ջանքերի արդյունքում վերացրեց Թուրքիայի համալսարաններում գլխաշոր կրելու արգելքի մասին օրենքը, այնուհետև 2013թ.-ին «Ժողովրդավարացման փաթեթի» շրջանակում պետական հաստատությունների աշխատակիցների շրջանում նույնպես վերացվեց այդ արգելքը:

2016թ.-ի օգոստոսին Էրդողանը չեղարկեց կին ոստիկաններին գլխաշոր կրելն արգելող օրենքը, որը գործում էր մինչ այդ, այնուհետև 2017թ.-ին չեղարկվեց նաև թուրքական ԶՈՒ-ի անդամ կանանց շրջանում գլխաշոր կրելու արգելքը:
