Հայաստանի բնակիչները այսօր, օգոստոսի 7-ին, կարող են տեսնել ստվերված հարավային ծայրով լուսին։ Սա լուսնի մասնակի խավարում է, որը  դիտարկվում է Եվրոպայի, Աֆրիկայի, Ասիայի երկրներում ու Ավստրալիայում ։

Լուսնի ամբողջական խավարման դեպքում Լուսինն ամբողջությամբ է անցնում ստվերի տակ, որը նետում է Երկիրը, իսկ մասնակի խավարման դեպքում, համապատասխանաբար՝ մասնակիորեն։ Երբ Լուսինը մտնում է միայն Երկրի կիսաստվերի մեջ, խոսում են մասնակի կիսաստվերային խավարման մասին։

Այսօր Լուսինն անցնում է երկրային ստվերի հյուսիսային մասով՝ սկավառակի մեկ քառորդ մասով իր հարավային ծայրով մտնելով դրա մեջ։ Slooh.com կայքում առցանց հեռարձակվում է խավարումը Աֆրիկայի, Ավստրալիայի ու Ասիայի աստղադիտարաններից։
