Հայաստանի ազգային հավաքականը օգոստոսի 12-ին ԱԱ-2019-ի նախընտրական փուլի պատասխան խաղում 92-78 հաշվով հաղթել է Սլովակիայի հավաքականին: Հայաստանի հավաքականի կազմում հանդիպման ամենաարդյունավետ խաղացող է ճանաչվել Ռայան Բոաթրայթը, ով վաստակել է 22 միավոր:

«Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ ԱԱ-2019-ի նախընտրական փուլի 4-րդ տուրից հետո Հայաստանի հավաքականը 7 միավորով գլխավորում է Ա ենթախումբը: Խմբի մյուս խաղում Շվեդիան 88-72 հաշվով պարտության է մատնել Բոսնիա և Հերցեգովիանյին։

Խմբում առաջին 2 հորիզոնականները գրաված թիմերը դուրս կգան ընտրական հիմնական փուլ, որի հանդիպումները կսկսվեն նոյեմբերից։ Հաջորդ հանդիպումը Հայաստանի ընտրանին կանցկացնի օգոստոսի 16-ի Ուպսալաում, մրցելով ՝ Շվեդիայի հավաքականի հետ:

Սլովակիա - Հայաստան հանդիպման հետխաղյա մամուլի ասուլիսում Սլովակիայի հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Իվան Ռուդեշը խոսել է հանդիպման մասին՝ նշելով Հայաստանի մի քանի խաղացողներ շատ մեծ դեր խաղացին,իրենց հավաքականի հաղթանակի համար, Ռայան Բոաթրայթին ընդհանրապես հնարավոր չէ պահել, իսկ Արկադի Մկրտիչյանն ուղղակի սպանեց Սլովակիային իր էներգիայով և լավ խաղով, շատ լավ խաղաց նաև Կրիս Յանկուն: Իվան Ռուդեշը նշել է, որ վտանգավոր էր նաև Ալան Հեսսը, ով շատ լավ դիպուկություն ունի և ամեն պահի կարող է փոխել խաղի ընթացքը:

Հայաստանի ազգային հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Նիկշա Բավցեւիչը ամփոփելով խաղի արդյունքները, նկատել է. ՙ«Մենք շատ լավ խաղացինք պաշտպանությունում, տղաներին շատ լավ տրամադրել էինք խաղին և նշել, որ եթե ցանկանում ենք հաղթել, պետք է լավ գործել պաշտպանությունում: Եվ այսօր տղաները անձնուրաց խաղացին: Պետք է նաև շնորհակալություն հայտնենք Անդրանիկ Չրաբաշին, ով վնասվածք ուներ, նա չէր մարզվել հանդիպումից առաջ, բայց շատ լավ հանդիպում անցկացրեց, և արեց ամեն ինչ, որ իր թիմը հաղթի այս խաղում:Ես կարծում եմ, որ մեր ենթախմբում շատ խճճված վիճակ է, քանի որ, այսօր Շվեդիան հյուրընկալվելիս հաղթել է Բոսնիա և Հերցեգովինայի հավաքականին: Շարունակում եմ պնդել, որ Սլովակիան լավ թիմ է, այս ենթախմբում ընդհանրապես շատ ուժեղ թիմեր են հավաքավել, մենք արդեն 3 հաղթանակ ունենք, բայց դեռ պետք է մյուս հանդիպումներում էլ հաղթենք, որպեսզի կարողանանք խմբից դուրս գալու խնդիրը լուծել: Պետք է նշեմ նաև վիճակագրությունից մեկ կարևոր փաստ: Մրցակիցը հանդիպման ընթացքում 19 անգամ է կորցրել գնդակը, իսկ մենք ՝ 9: Դա ցույց է տալիս, որ մենք շատ ուշադիր ենք խաղացել և ստիպել ենք մրցակցին հանդիպման ընթացքում մի քանի անգամ սխալվել»:
