Հիվանդությունը տարածվում է հեշտոցային, անալ և օրալ շփման միջոցով: Հերպեսը կարող է ախտանիշ չունենալ կամ բլիստերներ առաջացնել: Այդ փուչիկները կարող են մի քանի շաբաթ գոյություն ունենալ: Հերպեսը կարող է նաև մարմնում ցավեր, սարսուռ և տենդ առաջացնել: Այն չբուժելու դեպքում կարող է առաջացնել կրկնվող խոցեր, վերքերը տարածել մարմնի մյուս մասերին, այրոցի զգացում առաջացնել միզելիս, հանգեցնել վիժման, հեշտոցային բիծ առաջացնել: Հերպեսը նաև կարող է ծննդաբերության ժամանակ երեխային փոխանցվել:
Հերպեսի լիակատար բուժում չկա, այն կարելի է ախտորոշել լաբորատոր թեստի միջոցով: Միշտ պահպանակ օգտագործեք հերպեսով վարակվելուց խուսափելու համար:
