Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Բ-ն օգոստոսի 20-ին, Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում հանդիպում է ունեցել ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության ընթացքում, մարտական գործողությունների եւ զինադադարի պայմաններում զոհված զինծառայողների մայրերի հետ։

Մայր Աթոռից  հայտնում են, որ Վեհափառ Հայրապետն իր օրհնությունն ու հայրական սերը փոխանցել է հանդիպմանը մասնակից մայրերին՝ բարձրորեն գնահատելով նրանց ոգին։ Նորին Սրբությունն իր վշտակցությունն է արտահայտել, ապա նշել, որ նրանց զավակներն իրենց կյանքն ընծայեցին հանուն հայրենիքի ապահով ու անվտանգ կյանքի, որպեսզի իրենց մայրերն ու քույրերն ապրեն խաղաղության մեջ, ոտնակոխ չլինեն սրբությունները եւ երաշխավորվի մեր ժողովրդի վաղվա օրը։

Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետը հաստատեց, որ նահատակված զինվորների հիշատակը նվիրական է ամենքի համար եւ նրանք իրենց սխրանքով ու հերոսական օրինակով պիտի շարունակեն հավերժ ապրել մեր ժողովրդի հոգում՝ առաջացնելով միմիայն հպարտության եւ երախտագիտության զգացում։

Գարեգին Բ Կաթողիկոսն ընդգծեց նաեւ, որ հայ զինվորը՝ հայրենյաց սահմանների պաշտպանը, մշտապես իր եւ յուրաքանչյուր հայ եկեղեցականի աղոթքներում է։

Պատասխանելով զինծառայողների մայրերին հուզող հարցերին՝ վերջում Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետը աղոթք բարձրացրեց առ Աստված զոհված զինվորների հոգիների հանգստության համար, ապա օրհնելով որդեկորույս մայրերին՝ նրանց մաղթեց նույն հայրենասիրական ոգով, որով կրթել եւ դաստիարակել են իրենց զավակներին, շարունակել իրենց կարեւոր առաքելությունը կյանքում։

Հանդիպմանը ներկա էր Մայր Աթոռի Արտաքին հարաբերությունների եւ արարողակարգի բաժնի տնօրեն Գերաշնորհ Տ. Նաթան արքեպիսկոպոս Հովհաննիսյանը։

Երեւանից եւ Գյումրիից Մայր Աթոռ ժամանած մայրերը Մայր Տաճարում նաեւ ներկա գտնվեցին Ս. Պատարագի արարողությանը:
