Բարսելոնում տեղի ունեցած ահաբեկչությունն ու դրան հաջորդած մեկ երկու փոքր ահաբեկչական ակտերը կրկին ցնցեցին Եվրոպան: Ահաբեկիչների կազմակերպված ցանցը բացահայտվեց ու վնասազերծվեց, բայց դրանից սարսափը չվերացավ: Հերթական անգամ Հին մայրցամաքը ցնցվեց ռադիկալ իսլամիզմի ձեռքերով:
