Հուշարձանագետ Սամվել Կարապետյանը ևգրականագետ Դավիթ Գասպարյանը կողմ են Խորհրդային Միության տարիների գործիչների անունները կրող որոշ փողոցներն անվանափոխելու գաղափարին, սակայն գտնում են, որ դա պետք է արվի առանց ծայրահեղության և ավելորդ պոպուլիզմի:

Օգոստոսի 21-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպմանը գրականագետ Դավիթ Գասպարյանն ընդգծեց, որ փողոցների անվանումները պետք է ազգայնացնել, սակայն դրա հետ մեկտեղ զերծ մնալ ծայրահեղ քայլերից: «Խորհրդային այն գործիչների անուններով, ովքեր նշանակալի գործեր են արել Հայաստանի համար, փողոցներ մենք պետք է ունենանք: Որոշ փողոցներ անվանափոխելու կարիք իսկապես կա, սակայն այս հարցը չպետք է քաղաքական ալիքի վրա տարփողել»,- ընդգծեց Գասպարյանը:

Նրա խոսքով` այդ հարցը պետք է լուրջ քննարկումներ անցնի մասնագետների մասնակցությամբ, դրանով պետք է զբաղվեն հատուկ հանձնաժողովներ: 

«Սա շատ նուրբ հարց է, և դրան պոպուլիստական երանգներ պետք չէ տալ: Այսպիսի հարցերը պետք է լուրջ հանձնաժողովներում քննարկվեն»,- ասաց գրականագետը:

Հուշարձանագետ Սամվել Կարապետյանը ևս այն կարծիքին է, որ փողոցներն անվանափոխելու հարցում պետք է զերծ մնալ ծայրահեղ քայլերի գնալուց: Նրա խոսքով` Երևանում կան փողոցներ, որոնք իսկապես անվանափոխելու կարիք ունեն:

«Օրինակ, Լենինգրադյան փողոց պահելու իմաստ միգուցե կա Մոսկվայում կամ Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում, սակայն ոչ Երևանում: Ես տեղյակ եմ, որ մարդկանց մի խումբ պարբերաբար նամակներ է հղում քաղաքապետարան, ակցիաներ  անցկացնում, որպեսզի Երևանի Լենինգրադյան փողոցն անվանվի Լեոնիդ Ազգալդյանի անունով: Ես միանգամայն կողմ եմ այս առաջարկին, և, կարծում եմ, քաղաքապետարանն ընդառաջ պետք է գնա այս առաջարկին:

Հուշարձանագետն ևս այն կարծիքին է, որ խորհրդային տարիների գործիչներ կան, որոնց անուններով փողոցներ պետք է լինեն: Նրա խոսքով, սակայն, անուններ կան, որ չպետք է հարատևեն, անուններ էլ կան, որ դեռ նույնիսկ չեն էլ հիշատակվել և պետք է նաև դրանց անդրադառնալ:
