Երևանի Լենինգրադյան փողոցի անվանափոխման հարցը շրջանառելիս շատերը որպես փաստարկ են ներկայացնում Լենինգրադ անունով քաղաքի բացակայությունը, ինչն առնվազն անլուրջ է: Լենինգրադ անունով քաղաք չլինելու հանգամանքը բացարձակ հիմք չէ, որ նման անվանումով փողոց չլինի: Ընդ որում, եվրոպական արժեքներով հիացող մեր շատ համերկրացիներ պետք է որ իմանային, որ հենց նույն Եվրոպայում այսօր կան փողոցներ ու հրապարակներ, որոնք կրում են այլևս գոյություն չունեցող քաղաքների անուններ: Ամենավառ օրինակը Ստալինգրադ անունով փողոցներն ու հրապարակներն են: 

1961 թվականից ի վեր աշխարհում այլևս գոյություն չունի Ստալինգրադ քաղաք, այն վերանվանվել է Վոլգոգրադ: Բայց արի ու տես, որ մինչ օրս քաղաքակիրթ Եվրոպայի բնօրրան համարվող Ֆրանսիայի մայրաքաղաք Փարիզում առկա է Ստալինգրադյան հրապարակ, Ստալինգրադյան պուրակ և «Ստալինգրադ» մետրոյիկայարան:

Հատկանշական է, որ այս առումով Փարիզը միակը չէ: Ստալինգրադյան հրապարակ, պողոտա, փողոց, այգի, պուրակ, ծառուղի և այլն, մինչ օրս առկա է նաև Ֆրանսիայի ավելի քան 15 քաղաքներում: Եվրոպայի սիրտը համարվող Բելգիայի մայրաքաղաք Բրյուսելում էլ կա Ստալինգրադյան պողոտա: Ստալինգրադյան է կոչվում Իտալիայի Բոլոնյա քաղաքի գլխավոր փողոցը, Միլանի փողոցներից մեկը: Ի դեպ, Մեծ Բրիտանիայի Կոլչեստեր քաղաքում էլ կա Ստալինի անունով մայրուղի... Դե արևելաեվրոպական երկրների քաղաքների մասին էլ թերևս լռեմ: 

Հ.Գ. - Գուցե հուշե՞ք վերը նշված երկրների ու քաղաքների ղեկավարներին, որ Ստալինգրադ անունով քաղաք 1961 թվականից այս կողմ այլևս գոյություն չունի աշխարհում...
