Բազմաթիվ երկրներում օրենքներով կարգավորվում են ոչ միայն մարդկանց, կազմակերպությունների և պետության (պետությունների) միջև հարաբերությունները, այլև մարդկային (և ոչ միայն) կյանքի ամենաինտիմ կողմը: Օրինակ, Մեծ Բրիտանիայում արգելվում է անծանոթ կնոջը սեքսով զբաղվելու առաջարկություն անել: Նման սիրախաղերի սիրահարներին սպառնում է 180 հազար եվրո տուգանք կամ էլ 3 ամսվա ազատազրկում: Իսկ Մալազիայի փողոցում համբուրվելու դեպքում կարող եք հայտնվել կալանավայրում: Ամերիկյան Կոնեկտիկուտում չի կարելի սեքսով զբաղվել ցերեկային լույսի ներքո, իսկ Դելավերում, հակառակը` մթության մեջ: Որքան էլ տարպրինակ թվա, բայց Ալյասկայի նահանգում եղջերուներին օրենքով արգելված է բեղմնավորվել փողոցում,: Սեռական հարաբերություններին վերաբերող ամենաանհեթեթ ու տարօրինակ օրենքները գործում են ԱՄՆ-ի տարածքում. տարբեր նահանգներ ունեն իրենց համապատասխան օրենսրությունը: Օրինակ` եթե դուք ցանկանում եք սեքսով զբաղվել մթության մեջ, ապա պետք է Դելավերից հեռանաք: Օրեգոնի բնակիչներին արգելվում է նույնիսկ սեփական տանը մերկ ման գալ, որպեսզի լուսանկարներից ու դիմանկարներից իրենց նայող հանգուցյալների հոգիներին չվիրավորեն: Իսկ Մինեսոտայի տղամարդիկ, ըստ օրենքի՝ իրավունք չունեն իրենց կանանց հետ նույն անկողնում քնել, եթե սխտոր, սոխ ու ձուկ են կերել: Սակայն ԱՄՆ-ում օրենքով միայն մարդկանց սեռական հարաբերությունները չեն կարգավորվում. Բանն այն է, որ Ամերիկայի բազմաթիվ նահանգներում պահպանվել են կենդանիների հետ սեքսը կարգավորող օրենքները: Օրինակ, Ֆլորիդայում արգելված է սեռական կապի մեջ մտնել վարազի հետ, Մինեսոտայում` թռչունների, իսկ կոնեկտիկուտում` 18 կգ-ից բարձր քաշ ունեցող կենդանիների հետ: Շատ երկրներում օրենքով կարգավարվում է նաև համբույրը: Որքան էլ զավեշտալի է, բայց Կոնեկտիկուտում ամուսիններն իրավունք չունեն իրենց կանանց համբուրել կիրակի օրերին: Օրինակ, Այովայում արգելված է անծանոթների հետ համբուրվելը, իսկ Կոլորադոյում արգելված է քնած կնոջը համբուրելը, եթե անգամ այդ կինը ընկերուհին է, կինը կամ քնած դուստրը: Մալազիայում, օրինակ, հասարակական վայրերում համբուրվելու համար կարող եք տուգանվել 75 դոլարի չափով, իսկ Ինդոնեզիայում ձեզ նման դեպքերում սպառնում է ազատազրկում մինչև 10 տարի ժամկետով կամ 100 հազար դոլար տուգանք: Իրանում, հասրակական վայրում առհասարակ համբուրվելը՝ կնոջը, ընկերոջը, հարազատին, պատժվում է ճիպոտահարությամբ: Նման խիստ կարգեր են նաև ԱՄԷ-ում: Աբու Դաբիում փողոցում համբուրվելու դեպքում 10 օր կալանքի են դատապարտում: Մի քանի տարի առաջ Դուբայում 2 զբոսաշրջիկ` Ուկրաինայի քաղաքացին ու Ուզբեկստանի քաղաքացուհին փողոցում համբուրվելու համար տուգանվեցին 1000-ական դոլարով: Ինչպես հայտնի է՝ մինչև 1993թ. Կաթոլիկ Իռլանդիայում արգելված էր պահպանակների ներկրումը, քանի որ տեղի իշխանությունները գտնում էին, որ սեռական հարաբերությունները բացառապես սերունդը շարունակելու համար են: Մինչ օրս էլ հակաբեղմնավորիչներն այնտեղ բավական թանկ արժեն:
