ՉԺՀ պաշտոնական այցի ընթացքում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության պաշտպանության նախարար Վիգեն Սարգսյանը սեպտեմբերի 4-ին հանդիպել է Չինաստանի պաշտպանության նախարար Չան Վանցյուանին։ Դիմավորման պաշտոնական արարողությունից հետո մեկնարկել են հայ-չինական բանակցությունները։ 

Ողջույնի խոսքում Վիգեն Սարգսյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Չինաստան այցելելու հրավերի և ջերմ ընդունելության համար։ Չինաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարն իր հերթին նշել է, որ երկու հինավուրց և մեծ ժողովուրդների պատմական և արժեհամակարգային ընդհանրությունները հրաշալի նախադրյալ են երկկող հարաբերությունները զարգացնելու համար, այդ թվում նաև՝ պաշտպանական ոլորտում։

Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

Որպես արդյունավետ փոխգործակցության ուղղություններ նշվել են փոխադարձաբար՝ երկու երկրների համար զինվորական մասնագետների պատրաստումը և համագործակցությունը հումանիտար ոլորտում։ Վիգեն Սարգսյանի համոզմամբ՝ չինական ռազմակրթական հաստատություններում բարձրագույն կրթություն ստացած հայ զինվորականները հրաշալի սպաներ ու հրամանատարներ են դառնում։ Հայաստանն, իր կողմից, պատրաստակամ է ընդլայնել չինացի զինվորական մասնագետների պատրաստման ծրագիրը։   

Հանդիպման ընթացքում անդրադարձ է կատարվել նաև միջազգային անվտանգության հիմնախնդիրներին։ Չինաստանը, վերջին տարիներին, առավել մեծ ներգրավում է ունենում ժամանակակից գլոբալ մարտահրավերներին դիմակայելու հարցում։ Հայաստանը մեծապես կարևորում է այդ ջանքերն ու պատրաստակամություն հայտնում աջակցել դրանց։ Վիգեն Սարգսյանը նշել է, որ թեև Հայաստանը մեծ երկիր չէ, այդուհանդերձ, պատկառելի մասնակցություն է բերում խաղաղարար առաքելություններում։ 

Երկու պետությունների պաշտպանության նախարարները փոխադարձ շնորհակալություն են հայտնել Հայաստանի և Չինաստանի համար զգայուն հարցերում հետևողական և կառուցողական դիրքորոշումների համար, որոնք դրսևորվում են այնպիսի կարևոր միջազգային հարթակներում, ինչպիսին է, օրինակ՝ Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպությունը։ Հայաստանի համար այդ հիմնախնդիրը նախևառաջ ղարաբաղյան հակամարտությունն է։ Չինաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարն ընդգծել է, որ իր երկիրը խնդրի բացառապես խաղաղ կարգավորման կողմնակից է։ Վիգեն Սարգսյանը ներկայացրել է հակամարտության հետ կապված ներկա իրավիճակը, նշելով, որ թեև Հայաստանը հաստատակամ է իր դիրքորոշման մեջ՝ ղարաբաղյան հիմնախնդիրը կարգավորել բանակցային ճանապարհով, այդուհանդերձ, երկրի զինված ուժերը մշտապես պատրաստ են իրադրության ցանկացած զարգացման։ 

Կողմերը համակարծիք են եղել, որ անհրաժեշտ է մեծացնել ջանքերը՝ պաշտպանական ոլորտում հայ-չինական փոխգործակցությունը խորացնելու ուղղությամբ, առավել ևս, որ դրա համար անհրաժեշտ ներուժն առկա է։ Համաձայնություն է ձեռք բերվել ինտենսիվացնել փոխադարձ շփումները։

Վիգեն Սարգսյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել չինական կողմին՝ տարիներ շարունակ Հայաստանի պաշտպանական ոլորտին անհատույց օգնություն տրամադրելու համար։ Հայաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարի գնահատմամբ՝ դա հայ-չինական բարեկամական հարաբերությունների վկայություններից մեկն է։ Հանդիպման ավարտին ստորագրվել է հերթական` 10 միլիոն յուանի օգնության տրամադրման համաձայնագիրը։
