91 տարեկան հասակում կյանքից հեռացել է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության առաջին գլխավոր դատախազ, ՀԽՍՀ գերագույն դատարանի նախագահ, ՀԽՍՀ արդարադատության նախարար, ԵՊՀ իրավաբանական ֆակուլտետի դեկան, ամբիոնի վարիչ, հանրապետության վաստակավոր իրավաբան Արտավազդ Գեւորգյանը:

Այս կապակցությամբ իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում ՀՀ արդարադատության նախկին նախարար, իրավաբանական գիտությունների դոկտոր, պրոֆեսոր Գեւորգ Դանիելյանը գրել է.

«Վախճանվել է ինչպես խորհրդային համակարգի, այնպես էլ անկախության սկզբնափուլի իրավագիտության ռահվիրաներից ԱՐՏԱՎԱԶԴ ԳԵՎՈՐԳՅԱՆԸ, միակ մարդը, որը տարբեր ժամանակներում տեւական ժամանակով զբաղեցրել է արդարադատության նախարարի, գերագույն դատարանի նախագահի եւ գլխավոր դատախազի պաշտոնները, մարդ, որը չի կառչել իր աթոռից եւ երիտասարդ տարիներին կամավոր հրաժարվել է արդարադատության նախարարի պաշտոնից, երբ փորձել են «թելադրել», մարդ, որը միանշանակ եղել է ազնիվ ու անաչառ, միաժամանակ օժտված էր բնատուր հիշողությամբ, լոռեցու միամիտ սրամտությամբ ու ակնհայտ խորը գիտելիքներով:

Ցավոք, նրան հիշում էին միայն հանրային արժեքներ դավանող այնպիսի լրագրողներ, ինչպիսիք են Ռուզաննա Մինասյանը, Գեւորգ Թոսունյանը եւ այլոք, սակայն նրանք ի զորու չէին անհրաժեշտ չափով ճանաչելի դարձնել այդ ուսանելի մարդուն: Հպարտ եմ, որ եղել եմ իր կողմից բարձր գնահատված եւ վստահելի դատախազներից մեկը: Աստված թող մեր սիրելի ավագ ընկերոջ հոգին լույսի մեջ պահի»:
