«Քրիստափոր Կոլումբոս» կտավը կցուցադրվի Հովհաննես Այվազովսկուն նվիրված ցուցահանդեսում

Հովհաննես Այվազովսկու ծննդյան 200-ամյակին նվիրված ցուցահանդեսում բազմաթիվ կտավների կողքին կներկայացվի նաև նկարչի «Քրիստափոր Կոլումբոս» ստեղծագործությունը: «Արարում» խորագրով ցուցահանդեսը կանցկացվի սեպտեմբերի 15-ից հունվարի 15-ը Հայաստանի ազգային պատկերասրահում:

Ինչպես հաղորդեցին Հայաստանի ազգային պատկերասրահի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի բաժնից, վերը նշված կտավն առաջին անգամ ցուցադրվել է 1881 թվականին Լոնդոնում կազմակերպված պատկերահանդեսում:

Մարդու և բնության դրամատիկ բախումը Հովհաննես Այվազովսկու ստեղծագործությունների առանցքային թեմաներից է: 1880 թվականին վրձնած «Քրիստափոր Կոլումբոս» կտավում ներկայացված է բնության տարերքի դեմ մաքառող իսպանացի ծովագնացը: Կոլումբոսը փրկություն գտնելու հույսով կառչել է նավի կայմից, իսկ նրա ճանապարհը լուսավորող լիալուսինը հուշում է, որ փոթորիկն արդենհանդարտվել է:

Անվանի ճանապարհորդի կերպարով ոգեշնչված` Այվազովսկին 1879 թվականին այցելել է նրա հայրենի Ջենովա: Հետագայում իր ամերիկյան ուղևորության ընթացքում Այվազովսկին ստեղծել է Քրիստափոր Կոլումբոսին նվիրված ևս մի քանի աշխատանքներ:

Կտավը հնարավոր է եղել ձեռք բերել Աբրահամ Ջինջյանի (Ֆրանսիա) հավաքածուից 1957 թվականին:
