Վրաստանում ազգային արժույթի կտրուկ անկումը բնակչության շրջանում թեթև խուճապ է առաջացրել, ինչպես նաև դեռ միայն մթերային շուկաներում գների բարձրացման հանգեցրել: Երկրի իշխանությունները կոչ են արել խուճապի չմատնվել՝ լարիի արժեզրկումն անվանելով միայն ժամանակավոր երևույթ: Ընդդիմությունն իշխանություններին մեղադրում է դիլետանտության համար, ինչի հետևանք էլ դարձել է արժեզրկման նոր ալիքը, գրում է Независимая Газета-ն:

Մի շարք փորձագետներ ուշադրություն են հատկացնում մի երևույթի վրա. դոլարն այլ արժույթների նկատմամբ էժանանում է և միայն ամրապնդվում է լարիի նկատմամբ: Ոմանք դա բացատրում են հոկտեմբերի կեսերին կայանալիք տեղական ինքնակառավարման մարմինների ընտրություններով: Կառավարությունը պատրաստվում է օգնության բաշխման և նախագծերի իրականացման մեկնարկի: Մյուսները լարիի արժեզրկումը բացատրում են նաև ֆորս-մաժորով՝ Վրաստանում մոլեգնում են հրդեհները, որոնց դեմ պայքարը պահանջել է չպլանավորված ծախսեր:
