Մի շարք գերմանացի լրագրողներ նամակ են հղել Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանին՝ կոչ անելով նրան անհապաղ ազատ արձակել Թուրքիայի տարածքում անօրինաբար կալանավորված լրագրողներին, այս մասին հայտնում է demokrathaber.org կայքը:

Նշենք, որ Թուրքիայում ներկայում կա Գերմանիայի քաղաքացի 12 քաղբանտարկյալ, որոնց թվում են նաև Ստամբուլի կղզիներում ձերբակալված իրավապաշտպաններ, ինչպես նաև գերմանական DW հեռուտառադիոընկերության Թուրքիայի թղթակից Դենիզ Յուջելը, որի արտահանձնման հարցում Թուրքիան շարունակում է համառել:

Նամակում լրագրող-ակտվիստները հիշեցրել են Էրդողանին, որ Դենիզ Յուջելը առանց դատարանի որոշման կալանքի տակ գտնվում արդեն 209 օր և պահանջել ազատ արձակել նրան՝ հարգելով նրանց արդար դատավարության միջոցով իրենց պաշտպանելու իրավունքը:

Գերմանացի լրագրողների խումբը խորհուրդ է տվել Էրդողանին այլևս ժամանակ չկորցնել և վերջապես ընդունել օրենքի գերակայությունը, մտքի և խղճի ազատության նորմերը:

Ամիսներ առաջ Եվրախորհրդի խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովը մամուլի ազատության վերաբերյալ պահանջներ է ներկայացրել Թուրքիային:

Եվրախորհրդի պատգամավորների դատին հանձնված զեկույցը, որն ընդունվել է 110 կողմ, 15 դեմ ձայների հարաբերակցությամբ, պահանջում է Թուրքիայից ազատ արձակել ահաբեկչական միջոցառումներին մասնակցելու մեղադրանքով ձերբակալված լրագրողներին, վերանայել Թուրքիայի քրեական օրենսգրքի «Թրքությունը վիրավորելու» մասին 301-րդ հոդվածը, ինչպես նաև «նախագահին վիրավորելու» մասին 229-րդ և «ժողովրդի մեջ ատելություն սերմանելու» մասին 216-րդ հոդվածները: Զեկույցը նաև կոչ է անում վերանայել համացանցի հրապարակումների վերաբերյալ մեղադրանքներն ու թուլացնել Թուրքիայի պետական հեռուստաալիքի նկատմամբ պետական վերահսկողությունը:
