Նյու Յորքում ՄԱԿ-ի կենտրոնակայանում սեպտեմբերի 12-ին բացվել Է համաշխարհային կազմակերպության Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի հերթական 72-րդ նստաշրջանը: Աշխատանքի տարեկան շրջափուլի սկսվելու մասին հայտարարել Է նստաշրջանի նախագահ Միրոսլավ Լայչակը: Դրանից հետո նա ՄԱԿ-ի անդամ 193 երկրների պատվիրակություններին առաջարկել Է լռության րոպե անցկացնել «աղոթելու ու խորհրդածելու համար», տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:

Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի նստաշրջանի նախագահի կարգավիճակում իր առաջին ելույթում Լայչակը նշել Է, որ տարվա ընթացքում երկրներին մեծ աշխատանք Է սպասում, այդ թվում՝ միգրացիայի խնդիրների վերաբերյալ առաջին միջկառավարական համաձայնագրի մշակման ուղղությամբ: Բացի այդ, նա հիշեցրել Է, որ սեպտեմբերի 20-ին ստորագրման համար բացվելու Է Միջուկային զենքի արգելման մասին պայմանագիրը:

Ելույթ ունենալով նիստում՝ ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիու Գուտիերիշը հայտարարել Է, որ Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի հետ համատեղ աշխատանք Է ակնկալում օրակարգի բոլոր հարցերի շուրջ:

«Մեր աշխարհը բախվել Է լուրջ սպառնալիքների՝ միջուկային զենքի տարածումից մինչեւ գլոբալ ահաբեկչություն, կլիմայի փոփոխությունից մինչեւ սոցիալական անհավասարություն: Մեր առջեւ ծառացած են նաեւ խոշոր մարտահրավերներ՝ միգրացիայից մինչեւ տեխնոլոգիական առաջընթացի չկանխատեսված հետեւանքներ, որպիսիք են նաեւ հաքերային գրոհները»,- նշել Է նա: Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի առավել հագեցած շրջանը բաժին կընկնի հաջորդ շաբաթվան: Սեպտեմբերի 18-ին Միացյալ Նահանգների նախաձեռնությամբ ՄԱԿ-ում կանցկացվի մեկօրյա գագաթնաժողով՝ նվիրված համաշխարհային կազմակերպության բարեփոխմանը: Սպասվում Է, որ համաժողովը կբացի ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը, որի համար ՄԱԿ-ի կենտրոնակայան այցը առաջինը կլինի պաշտոնակալությունից հետո:

Ամերիկյան կողմը հույս ունի, որ գագաթնաժողովում կընդունվի 10 կետից բաղկացած հռչակագիր, որում աջակցություն Է հայտնվում Գուտերիշի կողմից առաջարկված բարեփոխումների ծրագրին:

Սեպտեմբերի 19-ին Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի շրջանակներում կսկսվեն ամենամյա ընդհանուր քաղաքական բանավեճերը: Դրանք կմեկնարկեն ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարի ուղերձով, այնուհետեւ առաջին անգամ Գլխավոր ասամբլեայի ամբիոն կբարձրանա նախագահ Թրամփը, ինչպես նաեւ ելույթներ կունենան Հայաստանի, Աֆղանստանի, Բրազիլիայի, Իսրայելի, Ուզբեկստանի, Ֆրանսիայի եւ այլ երկրների ղեկավարները, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
