ՀՀ սփյուռքի նախարար Հրանուշ Հակոբյանը սեպտեմբերի 15-ին ընդունեց Կալիֆորնիայի հայ երիտասարդաց միության պատվիրակությանը, որի կազմում էին միության ատենապետ Բաբկեն Ասատուրյանը տիկնոջ՝ Վիոլետի հետ և  մշակութային հանձնախմբի պատասխանատու Շանթ Հովասափյանը տիկնոջ՝ Աիդայի հետ: Հյուրերը նախարարին նվիրեցին միության 25 ամյակին նվիրված հոբելյանական գրքույկը, որտեղ տպագրված է նաև Սփյուռքի նախարարի շնորհավորական խոսքը: Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ սփյուռքի նախարարության մամուլի և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

Նախարարը հետաքրքրվեց միության  նորություններով և հաջողություններով, ծանոթացավ խնդիրներին: Քննարկվեցին Սփյուռքում հայկական ինքնության պահպանմանը, երիտասարդների հայեցի կրթության անհրաժեշտությանը վերաբերող հարցեր, անդրադարձ կատարվեց սփյուռքի նախարարության հետ գործակցության աշխուժացմանը:

Բաբկեն Ասատուրյանը շնորհակալություն հայտնեց հանդիպման համար, ներկայացրեց   միության ձեռքբերումներն ու ծրագրերը, պատրաստակամություն հայտնեց ավելի սերտորեն համագործակցել նախարարության հետ, ակտիվորեն մասնակցել նախարարության ծրագրերին:

Նա նշեց, որ Կալիֆորնիայի հայ երիտասարդաց միությունը հիմնադրվել է 1991թ.-ին: Ներկայումս միությունն ունի ավելի քան 440 անդամ, որոնք մեծամասամբ իրաքահայեր են:  Միության շրջանակներում գործում են գրական, տիկնանց, երիտասարդական խորհրդակցական, երիտասարդ ընտանեկան, ընկերային, հարաբերական, շինարարական հանձնախմբերւ և «Կոմիտաս» քառաձայն երգչախումբը, որն ամեն տարի ելույթներով է հանդես գալիս Գլենդել քաղաքում: 2014թ.-ին երգչախումբը մասնակցել է ՀՀ սփյուռքի նախարարության «Իմ Հայաստան» փառատոնին և արժանացել է նախարարության Ոսկե մեդալի: Միությունն ունի նաև «Լրատու» պարբերաթերթ, որը հրատարակվում է տարին երկու անգամ:
