Մեր ժամանակներում, երբ հատուկ ուշադրություն է դարձվում սեռական դաստիարակությանը, ցավոք, դեռևս գոյություն ունեն սարսափելի ավանդույթներ, որոնք կանանց ֆիզիկական և բարոյական ցավ են պատճառում: Ներկայացնում ենք այդ վայրենի սովորույթներից մեկը, որ կոչվում է կանանց թլպատում:

Այս երևույթը տարածված է Աֆրիկայում, մասնավորապես՝ Մալիի Հանրապետությունում, որի մի հատվածն այժմ իսլամիստների տիրապետության տակ է: Այդ սարսափելի գործողությունը, որ ոչ մի առնչություն չունի գինեկոլոգիական ոլորտի հետ, կատարում են անչափահաս աղջիկների հետ: Սովորաբար թլպատումը կատարում է հատուկ այդ գծով մասնագիտացած կինը, որի մոտ իրենց աղջիկներին բերում են մայրերը: Նրանք աղջիկներին թողնում են այդ կնոջ մոտ, իսկ իրենք դուրս գալիս փողոց, որպեսզի չլսեն երեխաների սարսափելի ճչոցները:

Կանանց թլպատումը տեղի է ունենում բացարձակապես ոչ հիգիենիկ պայմաններում: Թլպատող կինը խաղում է երեխայի հետ, այնուհետև բացում է նրա ոտքերը և դանակով կտրում հեշտոցի վերին հատվածը՝ վերքին հատուկ փոշի ցանելով: Երբեմն կանանց թլպատումը ենթադրում է սեռական շրթերը կտրելը և հեշտոցը կարելը:

Դրանով սարսափը չի ավարտվում. կտրված հատվածը տալիս են ծնողներին: Եթե գիշերը այն ուտեն մկները, նշանակում է, որ աղջիկը հետագայում շատ երեխաներ կունենա: Համարվում է, որ չթլպատված աղջիկը կարող է ավելի շատ սեքսի կարիք ունենալ, քան տղամարդը: Թլպատումը հնարավորություն է տալիս տղամարդուն վերահսկել կնոջ սեռական հակումները, որի միակ գործառույթը պետք է լինի երեխա ծննդաբերելը:

Ամենասարսափելին այն է, որ ծնողները չեն գիտակցում ողջ վտանգը. այն կարող է վերջանալ արյան վարակումով, ուժեղ արյունահոսությամբ և հետագայում ծննդաբերության հետ կապված խնդիրներով:

22-ամյա երիտասարդ աֆրիկուհի Մարիամը նույնիսկ չի իմացել, որ իր հետ նման գործողություն են կատարել: Երբ նա բարեգործական կենտրոնում սովորելիս կարդացել է այդ երևույթի մասին և դիտել նկարները, նոր միայն սարսափով հայտնաբերել է, որ իր հետ էլ նույնն է կատարվել: Մինչ այդ Մարիամը կարծել է, որ չամուսնացած աղջիկների սեռական օրգանն այդպիսի տեսք է ունենում:

Այժմ Մարիամը շրջում է Մալիի գյուղերում և քարոզում ծնողներին զերծ պահել երեխաներին նման գործողություններից, սակայն ավագ սերնդի մարդիկ համառորեն շարունակում են հետևել այդ վայրենի ավանդույթին: Կանանց թլպատումը տարածված է ոչ միայն Մալիում, այլև Մերձավոր Արևելքի մի շարք երկրներում:
