Արցախի Հանրապետության Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Աշոտ Ղուլյանը սեպտեմբերի 18-ին ընդունել է ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամ, Կոնգրեսի Հայկական հարցերով հանձնախմբի  համանախագահ Դեյվիդ Վալադաոյին: Այս մասին տեղեկացրին Արցախի Հանրապետության Ազգային ժողովի մամուլի ծառայությունից:

Ողջունելով անդրանիկ այցով Արցախում գտնվող կոնգրեսականին՝ խորհրդարանի նախագահ Աշոտ Ղուլյանը բարձր է գնահատել Կոնգրեսի Հայկական հարցերով հանձնախմբի ջանքերը՝ ուղղված հայ-ամերիկյան հարբերությունների զարգացմանը և ադրբեջանա-ղարաբաղյան հակամարտության խաղաղ կարգավորմանը: Աժ նախագահն ընդգծել է տարիներ շարունակ ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից Արցախին տրամադրվող մարդասիրական օժանդակության նշանակությունը  երկրում մի շարք հարցերի լուծման համար և շեշտել վերջերս Միացյալ Նահանգների Կոնգրեսում Դեյվիդ Վալադաոյի հեղինակած առաջարկի կարևորությունը՝ 2018 թվականին աջակցել Արցախում ականազերծման աշխատանքներին:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ Դեյվիդ Վալադաոն նշել է, որ իր առաջին այցի ընթացքում ցանկություն ունի ավելի մոտիկից ծանոթանալ Արցախին և հնարավորինս խորը հասկանալ տեղի առանձնահատկությունները:

Հյուրի խնդրանքով Արցախի խորհրդարանի ղեկավարն անդրադարձել է նաև հակամարտության գոտում Ադրբեջանի կողմից իրավիճակն ապակայունացնելու փորձերին, դրանք կանխելու գործում միջազգային կազմակերպությունների դերին և բանակցային գործընթացի ներկայիս փուլին:

Ամփոփելով հանդիպումը՝ Աշոտ Ղուլյանը համոզմունք է հայտնել, որ նման քննարկումներն արդյունավետ համագործակցության հիմքեր են ստեղծում տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության ապահովմանը նպաստելու համար:

Հանդիպմանը մասնակցել են ԱԺ արտաքին հարաբերությունների մշտական հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Արզիկ Մխիթարյանը, տեղակալ Դավիթ Մելքումյանը, արտաքին գործերի փոխնախարար Արմինե Ալեքսանյանը, ԱՄՆ-ում Արցախի մշտական ներկայացուցիչ Ռոբերտ Ավետիսյանը և «Հայաստան» հիմնադրամի ԱՄՆ կառույցի տնօրեն Մարիա Միհրանյանը:
