Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության նախագահի նստավայրում հոկտեմբերի 10-ին կայացել է ՀՀ վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանի և ԻԻՀ նախագահ Հասան Ռոհանիի հանդիպումը։ 
Կարեն Կարապետյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել հյուրընկալության համար և փոխանցել ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի ողջույններն ու բարեմաղթանքները: «Հայաստանը մեծապես կարևորում է հարևան Իրանի հետ ունեցած ջերմ և բարեկամական հարաբերությունները, որոնք ունեն դարավոր պատմական լուրջ հիմքեր և հիմնված են փոխադարձ շահերի վրա: Կարող եմ ուրախությամբ նշել, որ այդ հարաբերությունները գտնվում են բարձր մակարդակի վրա, և երկկողմ համագործակցությունը շարունակում է զարգանալ փոխըմբռնման մթնոլորտում»,- ասել է ՀՀ վարչապետը:
Ինչպես տեղեկացանք ՀՀ կառավարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Հասան Ռոհանին, ողջունելով Հայաստանի վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանի այցն Իրան, համոզմունք է հայտնել, որ այն կնպաստի հայ-իրանական բարեկամական հարաբերությունների հետագա խորացմանը տարբեր բնագավառներում: ԻԻՀ նախագահն ընդգծել է, որ պատրաստակամ է օժանդակել երկու երկրների կառավարությունների նախաձեռնություններին, ինչպես նաև համատեղ ծրագրերի իրականացմանը:
Զրուցակիցները կարևորել են մի շարք ոլորտներում, մասնավորապես, էներգետիկ բնագավառի, գյուղատնտեսության, տեղեկատվական տեխնոլոգիաների, զբոսաշրջության, «Սյունիք» և «Արաս» ազատ տնտեսական գոտիների համագործակցության խորացումն ու ընդլայնումը, երկու երկրների միջև առևտրաշրջանառության ծավալների ավելացումը: 
ՀՀ կառավարության ղեկավարն ընդգծել է հայ-իրանական քաղաքական երկխոսության բարձր մակարդակը: Կողմերն անդրադարձել են Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորմանն ու տարածաշրջանային խնդիրներին առնչվող հարցերի: Կարեն Կարապետյանը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը բարձր է գնահատում Իրանի հավասարակշռված վերաբերմունքը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնահարցում, ինչը տարածաշրջանային խաղաղության և անվտանգության ապահովման կարևոր երաշխիքներից է:
Իրանի նախագահը ՀՀ նախագահին ու հայ ժողովրդին է փոխանցել իր ջերմ բարեմաղթանքներն ու բարձր գնահատել հայ համայնքի դերը երկրի տարբեր ոլորտների զարգացման գործում:
