Շատերը սովոր են համարել, որ տղամարդիկ անտարբեր չեն փքված շուրթերի հանդեպ: Սակայն վերջերս կատարված հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ դա բոլորովին էլ այդպես չէ: Գիտնականները փորձել են պարզել, թե այնուամենայնիվ ինչպիսի՞ տեսք պետք է ունենան կանացի իդեալական շուրթերը:

Հին ժամանակներից աղջիկները փորձում էին դարձնել իրենց շուրթերը ավելի փքված: Օգտագործում էին տարբեր մեթոդներ՝ փայլեր, շրթներկեր, ներկեր, անանուխ (որն առաջացնում է արյան հոսք և որպես հետևանք ուռածություն): Վերջին հաշվով գործը հասավ տարատեսակ ներարկումներին: Չե՞ որ դրա համար բոլոր տղամարդիկ խելագարվում են, գտնում են աղջիկները: Կալիֆորնիայից պլաստիկ վիրաբույժները նույնիսկ ներկայացրել են իդեալական շուրթերի համամասնությունները: Այսպես, ներքևի շրթունքը պետք է երկու անգամ (և ոչ պակաս) ավելի փքված լինի, քան վերինը: Հենց այս ստանդարտին են հետևում ամերիկյան պլաստիկ վիրաբույժների մեծ մասը:

Բրիտանացի էսթետիստ, դոկտոր Թինջի Էշոն իր կոլեգաների մասնակցությամբ անց է կացրել մասշտաբային հետազոտություն, որոշելով շուրթերի իդեալական ձևն ու չափսերը, որոնք, ըստ հարցման մասնակացած տղամարդիկ սեքսուալ, բայց ոչ վուլգար տեսք ունեն:

Ռեսպոնդենտներին խնդրեցին պատասխանել, թե երկու լուսանկարներում դեմքերից ո՞րն ունի ավելի սեքսուալ և գրավիչ տեսք, նաև ընտրել շուրթերի երկու լուսանկարներից մեկը: Բացի դրանից, տղամարդկանց առաջարկեցին նշել յուրաքանչյուր լուսանկարի թերություններն ու առավելությունները: Հիմնվելով ստացված տվյալների վրա, հետազոտողները կազմեցին «ֆոտոռոբոտ»՝ շուրթերի համակարգչային մոդել, որը համապատասխանում է բոլոր էսթետիկ նորմերին:

Եվ ահա թե ինչ եզրահանգման են եկել նրանք՝ Ներքևի շրթունքի ամենալայն հատվածի հարաբերակցությունը բերանի անկյունների լայնության հետ կազմում է 2-ը 1-ի, իսկ վերին շրթունքը իր փքվածությամբ պետք է հավասար լինի ստորինին:

Հետազոտության ընթացքում Էշոն նաև գտավ, որ վերին շրթունքի աղեղը կամ «ամուրի աղեղը» խաղում է ոչ ամենավերջին դերը տղամարդկանց կողմից սեքսուալ շրթունքների ընկալման գործում: Սահուն և ոչ չափազանց ընդգծված աղեղը դարձնում է կանացի շուրթերը երկու անգամ ավելի գրավիչ քան վառ ընդգծված և խորը աղեղը:
