Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին այսօր իր հավատարմագրերն է հանձնել Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում Ֆրանսիայի Հանրապետության նորանշանակ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ժոնաթան Լաքոտը:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Հանրապետության Նախագահը շնորհավորել է դեսպանին պաշտոնն ստանձնելու կապակցությամբ, մաղթել հաջողություններ և հույս հայտնել, որ դեսպան Լաքոտն իր ակտիվ գործունեությամբ նոր էջ կբացի հայ-ֆրանսիական հարաբերություններում:

Նախագահը և Ֆրանսիայի դեսպանը համակարծիք են եղել, որ վերընթաց զարգացող հայ-ֆրանսիական առանձնաշնորհյալ հարաբերությունները լիովին համապատասխանում են երկու ժողովուրդների դարավոր բարեկամության ոգուն: Սերժ Սարգսյանը խորհրդանշական է համարել, որ նորանշանակ դեսպանն իր դիվանագիտական առաքելությունը Հայաստանում սկսում է Հայաստանի և Ֆրանսիայի միջև դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատման 25-ամյակի տարում:

Ընդգծելով, որ երկու երկրների միջև գոյություն ունեն կայուն քաղաքական երկխոսություն, բարձր մակարդակի ակտիվ շփումներ և փոխայցելություններ՝ Սերժ Սարգսյանը կարևորել է հայ-ֆրանսիական առևտրատնտեսական հարաբերությունների աշխուժացումը:

Նախագահը միջպետական կապերի ամրապնդման և խորացման գործում ընդգծել է միջխորհրդարանական փոխգործակցության մեծ դերը՝ գոհունակությամբ փաստելով, որ հայ և ֆրանսիացի խորհրդարանականներն ակտիվ շփվում և արդյունավետ համագործակցում են ոչ միայն երկկողմ ձևաչափում, այլև միջազգային խորհրդարանական կազմակերպությունների շրջանակներում: Հանրապետության Նախագահը կարևորել է նաև 2013թ. Ֆրանսիայի խորհրդարանում Ղարաբաղի հետ բարեկամության խմբի ստեղծումը:

Հանդիպմանը զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են ՀՀ-ԵՄ հարաբերություններին և զարգացման հեռանկարին, այդ թվում՝ առաջիկայում Բրյուսելում նախատեսվող Համապարփակ և ընդլայնված գործընկերության համաձայնագրի ստորագրման նախապատրաստական աշխատանքներին:

Հանրապետության Նախագահը կարևորել և բարձր է գնահատել Ֆրանսիայի՝ որպես ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահող երկրի ակտիվ ներգրավվածությունը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հիմնախնդրի կարգավորման բանակցային գործընթացում:

Անդրադառնալով հումանիտար-մշակութային ոլորտում համագործակցությանը՝ Հանրապետության Նախագահը և Ֆրանսիայի դեսպանը կարևորագույն իրադարձություն են համարել 2018թ. Հայաստանում Ֆրանկոֆոնիայի միջազգային կազմակերպության գագաթնաժողովի անցկացումը, որի շրջանակներում Երևան կժամանեն ֆրանկոֆոն երկրներից բազմաթիվ բարձր մակարդակի պատվիրակություններ: Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ընդգծել է, որ Հայաստանն անելու է ամեն հնարավորը գագաթնաժողովը բարձր մակարդակով հյուրընկալելու և անցկացնելու համար:
