Բրիտանացի գիտնականների խումբը ապացուցել է, որ ոչ մեծ քանակությամբ ալկոհոլի օգտագործումը օգնում է ավելի լավ տիրապետել օտար լեզվին։

Այդպիսի եզրահանգման Գերմանիայի, Նիդերլանդների և Բրիտանացիների գիտնականները եկել են այն էքսպերիմենտից հետո, որին մասնակցել են 5 գերմանացիներ։ Նրանք սովորել են Հոլանդիայի լեզուն։

Փորձարկումների ընթացքում լեզու սովորողները շփվել են բանախոսների հետ ազատ թեմաների շուրջ:

Բոլորին առաջարկել են խոսակցության ժամանակ խմել հյութ, մի դեպքում առանց ալկոհոլի, իսկ մյուս դեպքում՝ օղիով։

Ալկոհոլը ազդել է մարդկանց ունակությունների վրա և նրանք սկսել են ավելի ճշգրիտ խոսել օտար լեզվով։ Այդ փորձի ընթացքում «հարբած» մասնակիցները գերազանցել են ալկոհոլ չօգտագործած մասնակիցներին մի քանի բալով։

Իհարկե, ալկոհոլը հնարավորություն է տալիս բացել մարդկանց լեզուն, հանգստանալ և տնօրինել օտարների հետ խոսելու ունակությունը:

Սակայն ցավոք սրտի, ալկոհոլի օգտագործումը ոչ մի կերպ չի անդրադարձել հոլանդերեն սովորող ուսանողների ինքնագնահատականի վրա՝ թե՛ սթափ և թե՛ «հարբած» վիճակում։ Նրանք փորձից հետո չեն ընդունել իրենց օտար լեզվին տիրապետելեու բավարար ունակությունը:

Իհարկե այս ամենը ապացուցելուց հետո, գիտնականները խորհուրդ չեն տալիս օտար լեզու սովորողներին սկսել օգտագործել մեծ քանակությամբ ալկոհոլ։
Փորձի մասնակիցները խմել են միայն մի փոքր քանակությամբ ալկոհոլ։ Ըստ գիտնականների՝ այն չարաշահելու հետևանքով մարդիկ ոչ թե կսկսեին լավ խոսել, այլ ընդհանրապես կկորցնեին խոսելու ունակությունը։
