Կատալոնիայի ղեկավար Կառլես Պուչդեմոնը ժեներալիտետի (կառավարության) անդամների ձերբակալումը համարել Է «լուրջ սխալ եւ ոտնձգություն ժողովրդավարության դեմ» եւ պահանջել Է ազատ արձակել իր ստորադրյալներին: Այս մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, նա հայտարարել Է TV3 հեռուստաալիքի եթերում՝ գտնվելով Բելգիայում:

Նոյեմբերի 2-ին ավելի վաղ Իսպանիայում դատավորը կարգադրել Է մինչեւ գործի ըստ Էության քննությունը կալանքի տակ վերցնել Կատալոնիայի ժեներալիտետի ութ նախկին անդամների: Պուչդեմոնն ինքը եւ կատալոնաց եւս մի քանի քաղաքական գործիչներ չեն վերադարձել Բրյուսելից, ուր մեկնել Էին, եւ չեն ներկայացել դատական նիստին:

«Որպես (ժեներալիտետի) օրինական նախագահ՝ ես պահանջում եմ ազատ արձակել դրա խորհրդականներին»,- հայտարարել Է Պուչդեմոնը Կատալոնիայի TV3 հեռուստաալիքի եթերում: Նախկին վարչապետը կատալոնացի քաղաքական գործիչների ձերբակալումները որակել Է «ծանրագույն ոտնձգություն ժողովրդավարության դեմ եւ հարված տարածաշրջանում դեկտեմբերին կայանալիք խորհրդարանական ընտրություններին»:

Կատալոնիայի անկախության հազարավոր կողմնակիցներ նոյեմբերի 2-ի երեկոյան տարածաշրջանի խորհրդարանի շենքի մոտ բողոքի հանրահավաքի Էին դուրս եկել Իսպանիայի իշխանությունների գործողությունների դեմ: Հանրահավաքի մասնակիցները պահանջել են կալանքից ազատ արձակել կատալոնացի քաղաքական գործիչներին:
